Absolutely Disgraceful Experience at L’Osteria Bikini Berlin
On December 25th, I called the restaurant at 5 PM to confirm if a reservation was needed. The staff assured me that no reservation was required and that we should arrive by 7 PM as they were closing at 8 PM for the holidays.
My family (5 adults and 2 kids) arrived at 6:33 PM, earlier than the specified time, while I was still on my way. They were told by the staff that we couldn’t be seated due to our group size, even though the restaurant was far from full. My father politely asked if we could sit and promised to leave or pack our food by 8 PM to respect the staff’s time, but they refused. Instead, my family was seated at the bar, without menus, and told to order takeaway.
When I arrived, I tried to address this with the manager, explaining that I had called ahead to confirm. Instead of resolving the issue, he passed me off to another staff member and then became aggressive, physically shoving me and threatening to call the police if we didn’t leave. My 7-year-old sister was traumatized by his shouting and unprofessional behavior.
To make matters worse, multiple groups that arrived after us—including one of five people—were seated normally, while we were denied service despite many empty tables.
This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I’ve visited L’Osteria locations in Berlin, Prague, Cologne, and Lucerne and have always enjoyed excellent service. However, the behavior of the staff and manager at this branch is unacceptable and has completely ruined the L’Osteria brand for me and my family.

Read moreHi everyone! I want to share my disappointment from yesterday evening in this restaurant. It’s our first time in Berlin. Me and my boyfriend were waiting outside on a line and we saw that there are a lot of people waiting to get a table. It was cold and we were not sure how long it’s gone take to get inside. The host were walking around without saying Hi, he ignored us. So I decided to ask him how long it is going to take to get a table, but first I ask him is there table for 4, because we were waiting also a 2 friends who lives in the city. The host was like screaming at me so rude. He said that there are other people on the line and they are before us. Like I didn’t see it with my eyes. I try to explain my self but he just turn his back and go inside. I felt so bad. After while It was our turn and he say that we have to wait from 20-30 min. I said that I will discuss this with my friends and I will tell him. So he said yes, sure. After 15 min me and my friend were again on the line and I said Hi, it’s me again, but he was ignoring me. He said to my friend that we have to wait an 1 for a table. And I said but I was here You told me 20-30min. And my friend confirm that and he was like so fake” Ooo yes”… So we get in there… Our meals were cold.. The waitress was not polite so I don’t recommend this restaurant. Service and Waiting Time (6/10):
Because it’s a popular restaurant it gets full almost every evening, especially in the weekends. Waiting time is typical for this kind of restaurant in this kind of localization.
Beverages (7/10):
The king of italian drinks - Aperol Spritz is a little watery but portion is ok. Coke sometimes has no bubbles in it but wines and water are tasty.
Food (6.4/10):
Presentation (5.5/10):
Mediocre presentation. Large plates for pizza are to small resulting in pizza hanging on the edges of the plate.
Texture and Technique (7/10):
Pasta is never overcooked, pizza is cooked through and meat is soft. Tiramisu a little bit too one-dimensional when it comes to texture.
Taste (7/10) Classic italian flavors, yet some dishes are a little bit unbalanced.
