At Mr Lê's, go for the grilled goods - they have a wood fire hidden in the back where they produce extraordinarily tasty and perfectly grilled meats and veggies. Everything is delicious, fresh, and well-made, but the grill is special. Also highly recommend the homemade lemonades and teas (in summer: Ice tea with maracuja and herbs; in winter: hot apple-cinnamon-orange-aniseed-mint tea - if you have partied too much or feel as if you're coming down with something, this will put you right back on track. As people say in Vietnam, "food is medicine" - only it never tastes that good outside Vietnamese cuisine). Very good prices, charming staff, indoor and outdoor seating, an extremely well-run place, comfy atmosphere. Someone here has a background in fine dining, and it shows in a lot of loving little details.

I walked past this restaurant hundreds of times and always wanted to give it a try. Finally made it. The outdoor seating is spacious and feels somewhat like a green oasis, the indoor is way darker but I found the creative decor quite the conversation starter. The menu has quite a lot of options but none identified as vegan/vegetarian. They do indicate the many dishes where meat can be replaced with tofu but they don’t specify if the broth is meat based, which sucks. The soups are very flavorful and even in the entree size quite big. For the main dishes I definitely recommend to take a look at their changing daily specials. I simply loved my sesame tofu with orange sauce, simple but unconventional and filling. No cars payment available despite the visa stickers on the door.

Mr Le is a very nice and cozy restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating (covered during winters). Taste of the dishes was fantastic and staff was also very courteous. We ordered spring rolls with rice noodles , stir fried chicken and vegan green curry. Everything tasted fresh and flavours/ spice levels were balanced. Stir fried chicken was a bit in the spicy side and it felt like that it was spicy due to the red chillies rather than the whole spices but I enjoyed it anyways.

Unfortunately I can not share the amazing reviews.. I thought it was a bit mediocre.. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and it invites you to come in, but the staff, although friendly make you feel more like you’re in a takeout.. the food comes very quickly and for me that is a problem.. the starter.. rice pancakes with duck in a fish-lemon sauce.. The duck was cold and therefore very hard and the sauce came out of the bottle The main.. a chicken lemon curry was flat and very watery.. not a lot of flavour and the chicken wasn’t fresh.. from frozen and they didn’t even cut it well enough to hide it.. the vegetables were completely undercooked.. not nice for broccoli and asparagus.. One thing.. it was very inexpensive, but I’d rather spend more money to be surprised, because I love the vietnamese cuisine, but instead I could have ordered that somewhere and had it delivered.. for...

The vegan versions of the soup leave a lot to be desired. They lack any flavor at all, which was really disappointing. I imagine some of the other dishes that are already vegetarian are probably better, alas we will not have the chance to try them.

I also had a misunderstanding with the staff, where I tried to order one starter, and they brought me two. It's possible this was due to none of us speaking German well, but all I did was point to what I wanted. I tried to tell the server and they insisted that I ordered the food, after I repeatedly said I didn't and I didn't want it, and I was forced to pay for it. I really hated the extra thing they brought me and it definitely colored my experience.

I did have a really lovely iced lemongrass tea. I'd definitely...
