So how is the hyped döner place. We started to queue for the order 8.30pm, made the order 9.17pm, so 47min waiting to make the order. Got the food 9.55pm, 1h25min after we started to queue. The food was good. Sauces, seasoning and chicken was very good, as also amount of halloumi on the other wrap. But the, the problem, that makes the taste, food totaly irrelevant! The staff working in this place. Looks like a joke when you look what they do there. Outside you have 50 meters of queue, there is maybe 8 person working there. One older guy is trying to make orders, slowly as hell, then one younger woman is helping, but it is more important to joke around, and just talking with workmates. One guy is takeing orders, but then not takeing, because he starts to change the ketchup bag. Same time, there is one boy, who looks like doing something, but as slowly as ever. And then 2 guys, walking in and out doing nothing. But then the star of the show, a guy, leaning agains a wall for 10min, changing playable music, the he goes to the cashier, takes the tips, starts to count then, so that everyone at the cashier stops working, because he need to start to do it this time, whaaaaat? Then this same parody continues. People are NOT getting their food, because one order of 2 portions of kebab, takes 10min for these circus characters to make. So, we go and buy some stuff to hotel, and come back, 15min later, 2 people have gotten their food. The worst person has come out from the kitchen, sitting a cross the road, smoking and talking to a phone, and there is about 50 people waiting outside. This is propably the worst working staff i have ever seen, anywhere. And this one joke guy, why the hell is he even there "working"? Our guess is that he is maybe the owners son, otherwise it makes no sence. Food was ok, not awesome. Staff and service the WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN ANYWHERE. ANYWHERE!!! DON'T waste your time to this place. I bet you get same quality döner elsewhere, where the staff WORKS, and is not acting like...
Read moreI was excited to try Rüyam after seeing so many positive reviews online. The line out the door when we arrived seemed to confirm its popularity. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and despite the crowd, the line moved efficiently.
I ordered the #1 Gemüse chicken sandwich with everything and a side of fries #11. Finding a table was lucky given how busy it was, and watching other diners with their sandwiches only increased my anticipation.
When I picked up my food at the counter, the sandwich looked impressive - generously stuffed with good looking ingredients. Price was very reasonable for the amount of food they gave. However, after taking my first bite, I mostly tasted salad and bread, with the chicken hardly noticeable. Even when I tried to get more meat in my second bite, the chicken was underwhelming and under-seasoned when tasted on its own.
The positives: the fries were crispy and delicious, the bread was well-toasted, the salad is good, and they clearly use quality ingredients. But ultimately, it felt like eating an elaborate salad sandwich. As this was my first time having this type of sandwich I had nothing to compare it to.
Three stars for good ingredients and efficient service, but the bland chicken and overwhelming salad-to-meat ratio left me disappointed based on the high expectations set by other reviews. ...
Read moreThe queue might not look that long, but honestly, the service is incredibly slow . There were probably around 20/30 people before me and it look close to 1 hour to reach the counter to order! Only to be told at the time of ordering that the food would take up to 50 minutes additionally!!!
Very disappointed with the wait and it would be highly appreciated if they had a Timer outside the restaurant indicating the waiting time from a marking point in the queue! That would allow people to choose for themselves to be ready to wait the 2 hours or find a different place if they are really hungry!
Coming to the kebab itself, it is very different from what I've had before and definitely was delicious and great value for money. The sauces do a great job together, the kebab is very generous, and the veggies, meat, sauces, bread make for an incredible doner experience!
Do i regret the 2 hour wait? Well, for the sake of trying out the place, i think it definitely deserves a try on your list to do in Berlin since the kebab is spectacular!♥️ However, Would i go here again, knowing that i have to wait 2 hours to get my food, Never again!🥺
Hope this gives a good idea to new peeps looking to try this place out and to RUYAM, some ideas to improve the...
