Paris Bar — Restaurant in Berlin

We were celebrating friend's birthday and we have asked beforehand whether we can bring our own bday cake to the restaurant. They have agreed and said its not a problem. When after dinner we asked for the cake to be served the waiter told us he will charge 8 euro per person for serving the cake as the restaurant is serving the dessers and we should not bring our own. We were 6 so they charged us 48 euro for serving the cake we brought! The waiter said it is normal and it would happen so in any restaurant. I have worked in restaurants in London and it is popular and perfectly normal that customers bring their cakes to celebrate (restaurants do not sell cakes). Never before I have come across such situation to be charged 8 euro for that! In addition, we ordered two different bottles of wine which were just put on the table and the waiter didnt pour it expalning he doesnt know who is drinking what. I mean seriously? this is the place i'd choose if i was told i've got another hour to live. it is beautiful and garanteed good taste. the owner has more soul than falco , qualtinger and mozart put together. if you are looking for a restaurant for a romantic dinner and good service please go elsewhere. the food is fine in fact its great and so is the service but reading some of the other reviews it seems people are not getting what this place is about. it is about art - and artists. drinking and of course a decent steak frites to lay the foundation for a good night out. paris bar is basically the best bistro in the world ( including france). don't go for romantic dinner as theres always danger to meet somebody that will turn your life upside down - or your girlfriend never returning from the bathroom because she ran away with the strange painter from a country you never heard of . life without paris bar is not...

I hear that it was a historically famous restaurant in West Berlin, so I wanted to visit it at least once.

Finally, I had a chance to use the restaurant today, and I expected a pleasant day because it was my friend's birthday today. I didn't expect service, but from the beginning the waiter took the order in a very transparent tone.

The waiter took the order and gave us the meal as if throwing a plate. The waiter's service really ruined our mood! The seat was very small, and the table mat was not set up, and I felt compelled to order quickly when I ordered.

We found hair while eating, the staff did not apologize, was too unfriendly, and all the food was recalled without any apology or question. I'm very disappointed, I'm never going to go to this restaurant again. the service is inferior to the street...
