We visited Nuovo Mario Charlottenburg in the Christmas Eve. It was not our first choice, to be honest, but since it was close to the hotel and it was one of the few places open for the Xmas dinner, it was a reasonable option.
The place was almost full and we're welcomed by a team of waiters that grabbed our coats and took us to the table. The waiter who was assigned to serve us was extremely kind and, as a policy of the place (I suppose), started shooting us some words in Italian. When he realized some of our own words, he tried to switch to Spanish (when we're actually speaking Brazilian Portuguese), which was a honest mistake, even an effort to praise.
About the food: The restaurant gives, as courtesy, slices of white bread, to soak into one of the best olive oils I've ever tasted. The pasta my wife ordered was very well served and can serve up to 2 people (depending of the people). My Argentinian beef was ok. I ordered medium, but it arrived "bleeding". It's on me, since I know most of restaurants tend to serve medium as pure red meat. It was quite juicy and tasteful anyway.
The price, overall, was high but not that surprising, considering it was the Christmas night and, using other restaurants I had visited in Berlin, this one was quite...
Read moreREAD THIS BEFORE YOU DINE HERE! If I could give this place less than one star it would deserve it! Staff is rude, service is slow, food underwhelming, and restaurant overrated. First two waiters approached us asking for us to only have the table for 2 hours. We had no problem with that. We had a reservation for 8. After our party arrived there was no mention of us only having 6 people and not 8. We did not know that two of those friends would not be able to make it to dinner. We would have been fine with moving to another table had they just suggested they wanted us to. After they took our order and we ate, it was then when the waiter scolded us for not having the table filled with all 8 people. He brought the check and we asked to have it split. He said he couldn’t do that? Then proceeded to argue with us in front of other patrons and asked for tips after he was rude to us. I mentioned something to the so called manager who didn’t seem to care. All he wanted to do was create another disrespectful interaction between us and the waiter. There are other Italian restaurants near by that have a friendlier staff and...
Read moreI went here for a company Christmas dinner and got more than I bargained for. It was crowded, loud, and fabulous. The waiters were superman. They worked together like a week oiled chain. It's rare that one meets servers who know exactly what it means to be of actual service. To be of service is a gift, because if done correctly, it provides happiness and contentment. The love music was amazing with a live singer, singing melodic Italian tunes. The food? Just as tasty as the waiters. These men were beautiful. But I digress, the food was heavenly, the waiters devishly handsome, and the atmosphere...
