Ignorance, rebuke and fraud - stay away!

I wasn't expecting amazing things reading the other reviews here. But what we experienced was seriously the worst restaurant experience in quite a while.

Yes, it takes ages until you get a menu - until someone takes your order - until you get drinks - and until the food finally makes it to the table. But that's what was to be expected.

Things got funky when I asked for spicy oil right when the pizzas came. "Sure". I waited - nothing. So we somewhen started eating the pizzas which were getting cold. A rather bland experience workout the oil - and we would have preferred not to. Finally the waitress showed up again, so I managed to get her attention, following up on the oil I had asked her colleague for. "Just wait, it'll be coming" she rebuked me and disappeared. That was the last time I saw service personnel, no oil made it to the table, boring pizzas had to be eaten. Then she appeared again - of course not worth oil, clearly seeing we had finished meanwhile, not a word, just plain ignorance.

We went to pay inside - as none was showing up again. Not a word on three missing oil once more, no inquiry if everything was fine - as it was obviously not. She went through the items we had one by one when listing the bill, I agreed and paid - and had to ask for the bill. She folded the bill when handing out to me, I found it strange, but didn't look at it. No thank you, no goodbye followed, not even talking about an apology.

It was just in the way home when I realized, despite fling through the items we had, she had put an extra item on the bill she had not mentioned, overcharging us on purpose!

Everything begins with the tomato sauce. So many pizzerie think this is just background & go cheap, but these guys know that a good tomato sauce can take centre stage. Following up were some perfectly seasoned roast peppers and aubergine, as well as some incredible prosciutto, mozzarella & ricotta. Again - vegetables aren't usually treated like the VIPs of the pizza menu but on this occasion, they were standout. Basically you can taste exactly what you're paying for: quality provenance for everything, no shortcuts. The dough is quality and tasty but thicker compared to other high-end pizzerie. But look, these are fine margins and nothing like enough to lose a star, and didn't stop Parma shooting up to #1 favourite pizzeria in this town. Hatten einen Groupon Gutschein für 2 Pizze, 2 Desserts und 2 Espressi gekauft und sind mit sehr positiver Einstellung hingegangen, weil wir das Konzept eigentlich vielversprechend fanden. Vor Ort dann etwas enttäuschend, keine Begrüßung, etwas unterkühlte Bedienung, Diskussionen wegen dem Gutschein (jetzt plötzlich sollten die teureren Pizze nicht inkludiert sein, obwohl nichts derartiges in den Gutschein-Bedingungen stand) ... naja, der Kellner (nicht Besitzer) war erkennbar neu und in Einarbeitung, kann man mit leben, dachten wir. Wein von der Tafel bestellt, dort stand 8 Euro für 1/2 Liter. Recht lange auf die Pizze gewartet, obwohl Anfangs die einzigen Gäste, aber okay, weil frisch zubereitet. Pizza war dann gut, aber nicht umwerfend. Von den ebenfalls im Gutschein enthaltenen 2 Desserts gab es nur eines, Tiramisu, auch gut, aber auch nicht umwerfend. Auf die ebenso im Gutschein enthaltenen 2 Espressi haben wir verzichtet. Während unseres Essens füllte sich das Restaurant, andere Gäste mussten teilweise 20 Minuten auf Speisekarte warten oder auf Getränke, während beide Herren minutenlang in der Küche beschäftigt waren und der Chef zwischendurch lieber mit 2 weiblichen Gästen quatschte. Wollten dann zahlen und zu diesem Zeitpunkt hätte ich 3.5 von 5 Sternen gegeben, auch wenn ich das Preisniveau als deutlich zu hoch einschätzen würde. Dann die Rechnung: zuerst wurden Desserts extra berechnet, nach Hinweis, dass diese enthalten waren, wurde dies korrigiert. Plötzlich sollte der Wein aber das Doppelte kosten. Nach meiner Reklamation wurde mir vom Chef gesagt, das wäre das Sonderangebot vom letzten Monat, er hätte noch keine Zeit gehabt das zu ändern. Als ich sagte, das würde ich nicht akzeptieren, an der Tafel steht was anderes, sagte er mir, dann müsse ich wohl meinen Anwalt einschalten, und außerdem wäre das sowieso Ironie gewesen. WTF. Als ich auf den Preis von der Tafel bestand, wurde mir dieser nach einigem Hin und Her zugestanden, aber mit dem Hinweis, dass wir nicht mehr wieder kommen sollten. Keine Sorge, werden wir ganz bestimmt nicht! Während der gesamten Zeit, Warten, Probleme mit der Rechnung usw., keine Entschuldigung oder Freundlichkeit. Wir haben bestimmt Verständnis für Fehler oder Einarbeitung, aber so nicht. Nie wieder....
