Slava Berlin! Ukrainian Soulfood & Nalivanki — Restaurant in Berlin

Yesterday, we visited this place and left feeling like we were leaving home. The borscht and Napoleon cake were just like grandma's. The cherry dumplings and cabbage rolls were very tasty. The owner pays attention to small details and has put her heart into the place.

But the food is just one side of it, the infusions are a journey. If you've been to Western Ukraine, you'll understand the culture and this place takes you there. We tried infusions from sweet cherry and raspberry to fiery ones that ignite not just your taste buds, but your spirit too.

To be honest, we drank a bit too much, but I'm writing this review as soon as I woke up with no hangover. The staff is chosen with love, and we're thankful to Ulyana and her entire team for creating such a great atmosphere. I'm Ukrainian myself. And I wasn't expecting the dishes to be so great. It's better than many restaurants in Ukraine I know and I'm happy and proud that people of my country represent my home food in such a great way. The atmosphere is great. It is not overcrowded (yet). Ukrainian music is playing but it is not loud nor annoying. I find it adding to the atmosphere even more. The personnel is also very nice, talkative and smiley. It's also suitable for foreigners who wish to order in English, as well as anyone who knows Russian, Ukrainian or German. The prices are great for what was offered. It's one of my favorite stores in all of berlin. Everything is freshly prepared in the kitchen with love. No matter what I have eaten here, whether Zuchini Pancakes, Borscht or the novelty Kiev Kottlett with real cheese filling, everything goes straight to the heart.:))))) In addition to the great cuisine, the room is of course also very amusing and warmly welcoming.
