Pizza Mario x Gambino — Restaurant in Berlin

The reviews are true: food can be good(if you're lucky, spoiler alert- we were not), but the service is horrendous and will make you not want to come back.

My wife and I got to the restaurant before 1900 excited to eat here based on the menu. Only to face a nightmare of a time. We ordered everything(appetizers, main entre, and dessert) before a rush of people came in all at once. We ordered the burrata with Prosciutto and both the diavola pizza and cacio e pepe pasta.

Waited over 75mins after receiving our appetizers for us not to get anyone's attention or apology for the wait on our entrees.

All the other big groups were served ahead of us, which really put a damper on their service.

On the 90th minute - we had to forcibly get our waiters attention to ask how much longer our food will take....

In shock, the waitress went to the kitchen and came back with just our pizza. It was barely warm.... And as you can see in the picture - it was not cut and the waitress didn't even give us plates or utensils to cut the pizza.....

And to no one's shock the pasta never came, they had to cancel the pasta order off our check. There was barely an apology on this.

We had a miserable time, and the staff also had a miserable time because while walking up to pay I overheard their staff saying this is a nightmare.

The worst part, the waitress still asked for tip. Sorry, I love tipping and will always do it. But to have 4 total interactions with our waitress, where 3 of the interactions came from my wife and I to follow up with you is unacceptable. We left after 2130.

The waiters were very nice but their manager really bad - very brusque and unfriendly, every interaction with him was aggravating and unpleasant, yet we had to constantly overhear him reprimanding poor staff members. We ordered a burrata specifically because we had been curious about the balsamic caviar and the water melon. We received a burrata with tomatoes, no balsamic pearls, no watermelon. When we complained, the manager said "oh we didn't receive delivery of the balsamic pearls" and was surprised that we didn't want it. The pizza was ok but not great, and we had do wait for it forever, almost an hour. At one point we were told "2 minutes" and it still took 15. The "ordinary" pizza was made with canned mushrooms; the "special" pizza had premium ingredients but the taste wasn't overwhelmingly good either, just ok. Unfortunately the music of the YAAM beach club next door was so unbearably loud that we could not sit outside and even inside my ears started to hurt. All in all, a very disappointing meal where nothing was...

My friends and I came here to try some pizza and to spend time together in a nice place. When we ordered some pizza, the waiter told us that there was no more pizza, it was over. Could you imagine: Saturday evening, time was about 21:30 in a restaurant called PIZZA!!! Mario x Gambino, pizza ran out?! That was very strange. We were very disappointed but stayed and decided to order appetizers, drinks and pasta. The prosciutto with melon was brought without melon, it also ran out. Focaccia could not be ordered, it was also gone. The pasta was cold and tasteless. The quality of food was as if it was from local fast food. The waiter kept messing up the tables and orders. Brought us dishes or drinks that were not ours. He was neglectful. The pasta took almost 40 min to cook. For such quality of service and food the prices...
