Summary: I am torn between 3 and 4 stars, ok to good, but due to the higher pricing, you would expect a more refined cuisine. I will go for 3 stars at the moment and might give it another try; very friendly service

Best dish: yet to be discovered

Dishes (- negative / = ok / + positive): = red beetroot with yoghurt, hazelnuts, chives and smoked trout: it was ok to good; it lacked a well-rounded seasoning, possibly only a touch of salt; the ingredients are of high quality; my wife does the same dish and caramelizes the hazelnuts which adds a nice complement and a bit of acidity would round of the sweet beetroot = Aubergine with meatball, potatoes and tomato sauce: the meatball was quite dry and a touch bland; the Aubergine had a nice smoke flavor, but also needed a touch of salt; the various herbs went well with the potatoes, however not so much with the meat; the tomato sauce was good good kombucha from the barrel

Service: very friendly service

Price: high price for value €29 lunch menu for starter and main course

Atmosphere: nice modern design, more elegant interior design; the big clean open space is nicely designed with the open kitchen, but if you sit in the middle you are also very exposed

My rating system - i focus on the food first and foremost. I aim to be truthful and try not to be biased by friendly service or other circumstances. 5: excellent - I am rigorous in handing out 5 ratings 4*: good 3*: ok 2*:...

It's not common to find in Berlin contemporary fine dining, the scene here isn't anything like Copenhagen, so this place is a try out in that direction. Service was very pleasant, everyone was nice and helpful, so looks like on that front they did well. The place's interior is set up to the latest trends, everything is very cute though not very personal (it looks a bit like a trendy furniture shop from outside). One of us had the menu (55€) and the other had a first (18€), main (35€) and dessert (12€) we also had bottle of (filtered tap) water (4€) and bottle of wine (35€). The food was nice, mostly tasty, but nothing was extraordinary with the exception of the menu dessert, lemon tart. On one hand, there was nothing bad or not to our liking, on the other hand paying +/- 160€ begore tip is a seriously exaggerated price for the dining experience here. Just a short while ago we had a dinner similar in dishes/alcohol quantity at a similar level of fine dining restaurant and that ended with 100€, which was pretty much justified, so I'd say had the price tag here was 20-30% lower, it would be more according to the product you get. For the current price level I'd expect the experience to be above what they currently supply, so it was nice giving it a try, but it is unlikely we'd return or recommend it...

I was there for lunch at 12pm. Food was great, I liked the list of drinks that were available and atmosphere was very nice. While the staffs were nice and all, what I felt a bit uncomfortable was that me and my friend felt rushed to leave. After drinks and food was served, a server came and asked how everything was. That was fine. But around 1pm, the server came back and asked if we were still eating, while half of our food and cutleries were still on the plate. When we finished the food, dishes were cleared and some explanation followed (which I wasnt able to hear because it was loud+mask, but I am assuming for the next reservation for the table?) which lead to the bill shortly after. And this was around 1:20. When I am out for lunch or dinner, I want to take time and enjoy everything, and not be pushed. If there is specific time allowed per table, then please at least mention it on the reservation confirmation email or something. This was the only "negative" part of the experience but loved the rest. I will give it another try soon, having the time...

I think the main issue we had with Remi was the price-quality ratio. Starters vary between 16 and 20+ EUR and mains are between 27-40. So our expectations were set accordingly. Don’t get me wrong - the atmosphere was on point with fine dining, so we sat waiting for a bit of a wow effect. So when our starters came we couldn’t help feeling … slightly underwhelmed. Perhaps we expected a bit more than a 4.5cm slice of paté with 3 dressed salad leaves and 3 plums halves. Same goes for the pork belly dish. The flavors were alright and well balanced but it was just not reasonably priced. The pièce de résistance however was the 28 eur chicken dish. We will leave the creative interpretation of coq au vin to the chefs (which to us was a bit too far removed). Its the fact that it was 2 very small bits accompanied by 4-5 pieces of carrot was a bit disappointing. We did not come expecting huge portions of food. We simply expected more imaginative interpretations given the elevated price level.

Probably the best thing about Remi is its beautiful, minimalist design. The interior is thoughtfully curated—modern, open, and elegant. The menu is creative and makes great use of seasonal ingredients, and you can really taste the freshness of the produce in most dishes. That being said, while some plates stood out, others fell a bit flat in flavor and didn’t quite live up to the promise of their presentation. Service was friendly and attentive, however, a major downside was the unexpected €5 per person charge for what appeared to be bottled tap water—a cost that wasn’t communicated beforehand and felt excessive. Portions were also on the smaller side, which, combined with the pricing, makes the overall price-to-quality ratio feel a bit off. So, overall a nice setting and concept, but still a lot of room for improvement.
