Great place with a nice atmosphere and original menu, local favorite. Food is excellent, lots of good wines by the glass. However, visiting on a saturday evening, we found the service service seriously lacking. While the very young and probably very unexperienced manager spend lots of time being chummy with the regulars, we (and several other clients) were completely forgotten. The second course in our four course menu never arrived, third course arrived cold one hour (!) after the first, and when we indicated after thirty minutes of extra waiting we did not want to wait for desert the manager looked at us as if he saw water burning. And after all that, suggested to cut 10 percent of our total menu price. Bottom line: we strongly suggest avoiding this place if you are a tourist, value good service or hate waiting plus two hours on your next...
Read moreBeen coming here for years. They have seasonal themes and the pumpkin season is inventive. They have the comfort foods of Schwabenland. It’s not your heavy German meat and potatoes place. The schnitzel is light and delicate and even the wild deer stews and stuff are hearty without weighing you down in the winter. The flavors for all the things on the menu are nuanced and fine and the details with every dish are the level that you want when you can actually cook, but are tired and want to pamper yourself and have someone make you something with extra special care and attention. It’s a place I’d imagine people take their upscale traditional parents or something. Service is always great too....
We wanted to visit a german cuisine restaurant and this came on google with quite good feedbacks. We waited half an hour to get a menu and took it ourselves eventually. One of use wanted to light the candle that was on the table, so he took the lighter, the waiter saw that, ran to us with yeling "don't touch my stuff". The food was not bad, but together with poor service the price is to high. We waited 20 minutes to pay. In the end we decided to leave the change for the waiter, even if he didn't deserve it for being all the time quite rude, he responded. "If you wan't to leave a tip - do it, otherwise this money makes no difference to me, take it back." We are not in USA, we decide to leave the tip, not the waiter. We are tourists from eastern europe and we had an awful service compared to the germal couple that was sitting near to us. I think the waiter is a racist or a naci, you can see similar...
