I have visited the restaurant a number of times over the last couple of years. I have given it 5 stars in all areas. Tonight, something was politely different. New faces? Possibly?
Food is always consistent. High quality presentation and more importantly taste. This is farm food please remember. Hopefully how your grandma and mother cooked if you were raised in a certain way.
It's absolutely celebrated and thankfully so!
The service.....tonight was polite but pushy!!
On sitting we asked for drinks as we know the menu quite well, just finishing work... polite but assertive.
Next step, ordered our main course. But questioned? "You would not like to try our Salmon ceviche"
We politely said No Thank you, a main course and side order will be adequate.... possibly room for a dessert later...let's see!!!
We ordered wine, but met with " What about Water? I politely explained €7,50 for water is a German price attitude to water and she also agreed, she doesn't set the prices!
Never understood this concept of water being special in Germany.
But all fine, wine arrived 15 minutes before the main course, whilst pre drinks still to consume.
My partner and I, in mid conversation had forgotten about the wine after the main course arrived and our waitress poured our wine, possibly sat at this point for 20 minutes. Slightly chilled at this point.
So as always beautiful food, cooked with love..we would say!
During our meal a stranger or another waitress not familiar to the table, leaned over and made an effort to take the wine and top up glasses that already had enough wine in them. I again politely said Oh it's fine we can take care of this in our own time.
Once the plates were being cleared from the table, We were asked? Would we like dessert?
We said NO thank you, but she still brought the menu and out right under my nose, so to speak.
I reiterate .... I replied we are content thank you. Again, met with a pushy sales style...."Why NOT share?"
SELL, SELL Attitude.
We are fine thank you, I will have the bill, €86,00 nice and easy despite the pushy character. Youth? Inexperience? I gave €95,00.
NOT A THANK YOU !!!
I really don't take pleasure from spending my time being a keyboard warrior.
I only say positive things and leave the negative stuff to the Trip Advisor bregaid!
Having just returned from vacation in Sardegna, it's a reminder how far Berlin is from being a place to eat out at times.
Final note, I will be back of course. ... hahaha...if they have me after this review!!?? But it took the gloss off a simple evening. I am sad to be...
Read moreThe setting at Rotisserie Weingrün was elegant, and I had high expectations when I ordered their Finnish salmon grilled on the nail board & flambéed with whiskey, dill-mustard sauce . The description alone promised a visually striking and flavorful dish. However, when the salmon arrived at my table, something was missing—the signature flambé.
I had chosen this dish specifically for its dramatic tableside presentation, where the whiskey is set aflame before serving. The absence of this step was disappointing, not only because of the lost spectacle but also because the flambéing process enhances both aroma and taste. When I pointed it out to the server, they seemed apologetic but did not offer to correct the oversight. Instead, I was left with a well-cooked but ultimately underwhelming piece of salmon.
The fish itself was tender and flavorful, with a pleasant smokiness from the grilling, but without the whiskey flambé, the depth of flavor I had anticipated was simply not there. The accompanying dill-mustard sauce helped compensate, but it couldn’t fully make up for what should have been a defining feature of the dish.
Rotisserie Weingrün is clearly a restaurant that prides itself on presentation and technique, which made this mistake all the more frustrating. Next time, I’ll be sure to confirm that the flambé actually happens before...

Firstly, I will start off with the positives -
The chicken was definitely one of the best meals I have ever had - compliments to the chef. The truffle mayo is literally just that - shaved truffle on top of mayonnaise and added nothing to the experience.
The bad -
With this being a fine dining establishment the staff (not all) definitely look down on you for your appearance. The male who greeted us isn’t especially welcoming which instantly brings a negative vibe to the experience, it isn’t hard to welcome all guests with a smile and make sure they are equally tended too throughout the night, if you can’t manage the basics of the hospitality industry maybe leave to find a more miserable job that suits your personality.
There was a female server who was particularly attentive but I feel like she was aware of how rude the rest of the staff is. I wish I got her name but I didn’t.
Maybe the owner of the establishment needs to have their family eat here and actually address the reviews left here...
