TL;DR - amazing tasty and clever regional cuisine and with a deep understanding of middle eastern food. If you are the kind of person that loves food who manages to take two or three ingredients, treat them perfectly and put together a clever dish that tastes so good you'll lick the sauce off the plate - just make a reservation now for the first date you find.
We started with fish cigars and beef croquettes on wild garlic mayo. A fish cigar can easily become too greasy, but these were fresh and tasty, served with cream and fermented honey that had, surprisingly, a tingling aftertaste from the fermentation. The fermentation made the honey avoid the usual syrupy heaviness, and brought back the unexpected sensation of eating deep-fried oil from a natural, healthy fermentation process. I couldn't get enough of it and spread on another cigar and look, this was so brilliant, how high end food cuisine can elevates simple folk cooking in a sophisticated and deep way, but eventually making you pushing another cigar and loading it with honey as if you were a child biting into fries from the refreshments at your cousin's wedding.
the croquettes were insanely addictive but to avoid spoilers on every dish we had, would just say that the mayo had deep green wild color and I literally wiped out each of it from the plate. I should have asked them to pack me a small to-go squeeze.
Now let’s talk about the Jerusalem artichoke trio, the best demonstration of why I loved this dinner so much. When a menu offers three different treatments of the same ingredient, I'm in. The plate arrived with artichoke cream, confit, and chips. On one hand they manage to take this vegetable and give it a high end main course fish-like vibe, but the topping of all that were chips you just want to snack on as you were eating it from a bag on the line to the roller coaster while a second later I was back at the restaurant whipping the rest of the artichoke cream with the crispy quinoa and it’s all blew my mind.
Of course it’s a place you want to have a dessert, so we had three. When I saw tiramisu on the menu, I was sceptical. Why have tiramisu? I love it but I wouldn’t go for the dessert that is there just so the boring dude at the table can have his safe sweet option. So, nope, this wasn’t the case. The tiramisu had fermented yolk in it and hazelnut liqueur poured over, which I also had as a digestif. This was the best end for this dinner bringing back, again, deep taste pushed to the edge, contemporary interpretation to a well known dish that is so tasty you won't want to leave a single crumb...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Teller, a truly unique spot that masterfully blends Middle Eastern and Georgian influences into an exciting and creative menu. From the moment we arrived, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
The menu is a bold exploration of flavors, taking traditional dishes and elevating them with unexpected ingredients. One standout was the khinkali, a classic Georgian dumpling, reinvented with a luxurious Wagyu and boar meat filling—rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed. Another highlight was the fish cigars, which paired beautifully with a mascarpone pistachio cream, offering a delightful balance of crispiness and creaminess.
One dish that truly stood out for its creativity and sustainability was their use of the fin of the greater amberjack to ensure no part of the fish goes to waste. I was initially skeptical, but the flavor was absolutely amazing—an impressive example of how sustainability and great taste can go hand in hand.
The wine selection was equally impressive, featuring a carefully curated mix of Italian, French, and Georgian wines. The Georgian orange wine, in particular, was a revelation—vibrant, complex, and a perfect match for the meal. I’d highly recommend trying it.
Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making the evening even more enjoyable. Although we were seated at the bar—something I don’t usually prefer—it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The interaction with the staff and the energy of the space added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience.
With an extensive menu, incredibly fair prices, and such a memorable first visit, I’ll definitely be returning soon to explore more of their offerings. If you’re looking for an innovative take on Middle Eastern and Georgian cuisine, Teller is an...
Read moreHaving been to many great restaurants, I would say this was a medium quality one. Wouldn’t recommend and let me tell you why:
the service was okay but they forgot our bread which we asked for twice plus there should be certain dresscode for this type of restaurant and not the waiter going around in green, outside- like shirt food was not worth the money. the 3 euro green fried tomato should be a free starter because it lacked taste especially the sauce underneath it… the chicory was good but the sauce also under it, was a disaster. the bitterness of chicory doesn’t go with the saltiness, and blandness of the sauce. we haven’t tried many wagyus so couldn’t really tell if it was done the way it was supposed to be. the dessert was also bland. the mixed cookies should have been more sweet and not drown in olive oil. the salad was basic…and definitely not worth the price. also it was really loud because it is such a small place and certainly not for a date (couldn’t hear each other) THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING WAS NOT TELLING THE WATER IS CHARGEABLE. HAVING TO PAY 2.5 EUROS FOR THE WATER PER PERSON WHEN THERE IS A REQUIRED MINIMUM SPEND ON THE WEEKENDS WHICH IS 60€, IS PATHETIC. i am 100% sure i wasn’t informed that the water isn’t free so that should be illegal. they only asked us if we wanted water so we assumed that such restaurant would offer free water but...
