If your visiting the Willy-Brant building ( there's a free all year round exhibition) the the for a good coffee and friendly service. The head there. Its warm, clean and they do also a very tasty pea soup Turkish style, which is spicy. I treid a thing called a Buhrec pastry with spinach. I was surprised how well it tasted cold. I could have had it hot of course. Anyway the owners didn't stress how long we hung out there . So yes in the area check it out. And oh yes...expensive it wasn't either. why would you clear out the old stock this way? is it because it’s easy as a walk in customer would never buy beans that were roasted this long ago?
have to say, i was very excited but now im kinda disappointed. that sour taste tells the beans have lost significant co2.
on the positive side, i liked their packaging. was a joy to see the box and everything in it.

For Berlin I consider the prices "a bit steep" (ar 10€ for a flat white + carrot cake), at the same time, the coffee was really good. The carrot cake was also great, albeit a little bit on the overly sweet side - do not sweeten your coffee and you are fine. So while for personal taste I'd tweak the cake to be a bit less sweet, overall I nevertheless think they merit a 5-star rating for the food.
Otherwise is very calm and quiet - which again appeals to me, though I could imagine it becoming busier in the warmer...
