Weder gestern noch morgen — Restaurant in Berlin

Cappucino was solid, flat white was not that good (we had two, both were same), but I definitely do not recommend cakes here. I ordered an apple pie and received it ice-cold with the some pieces still completely frozen. It was so cold, that I could not eat it. I asked the staff to heat it up a bit. I waited 10 minutes, they brought it back and it was still completely cold, it just melted a bit. My guess is that the lady that was taking care of it, was a bit confused and forgot to turn the owen on. It might happen, so when she brought it back to me, I tried it, and it was still the same, so I asked again to heat it up. I waited around 10 minutes again, our coffees were finished we and wanted to leave so I asked for the cake to finish it quickly and again, received it super cold, just a bit more melted. When I said that I do not want to pay for it and do not want to wait again (I only ate three small pieces as I tried it), the waitress agreed, then told the lady that looked like the boss about the situation. She took a piece of the cake directly from plate by her hand and looked super upset and I think she said to the waitress that this temperature is normal and that´s how it is served. I was paying at the counter, as they asked me to, and there was the confused lady again that forgot to turn the oven on twice and asked for the full price, even with the pie. Because it was very chaotic there and I just wanted to lease, I just paid for it, even left a tip and left. I will never come here again. Sehr lecker, durch den mittelmäßigen Service aber Punktabzug.

Nach Empfehlung einer Freundin, entschieden wir uns für ein Frühstück in der schön gelegenen Gegend rund um den Boxhagener Platz. Das Lokal liegt an einer von Autos relativ wenig frequentierten Straße, wenn mal ein Fahrzeug vorbei kommt, dann ist dies meist ein LKW, der auch dementsprechend laut ist. Wir hatten bei schönstem Wetter (gefühlte 30°C und Sonne) das Glück einen Platz auf dem Gehweg zu bekommen. Durch die hohen Häuser in der Umgebung, ist ein Frühstücken im Halbschatten möglich. Notfalls kann man in in die Lokalität ausweichen, die durchaus einladend, kühl und sauber wirkt. Die Toilette wurde nicht benutzt, deshalb kann darüber nicht berichtet werden. Die Aussenplätze bestehen hauptsächlich aus 2-Personen-Tische und waren alle belegt, dass Klientel scheint aus Studenten, Freiberufler, Künstlern, Schülern und Angestellten zu bestehen. National wie international. Die Frühstückskarte ist übersichtlich aber mit genügend Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Preise liegen im Berliner Durchschnitt, eher etwas darunter. Meine Wahl fiel auf das "Berliner Frühstück", bestehend aus 2 Schrippen, 3 Scheiben Käse, 2 Scheiben Salami, 2 Scheiben Schinken, 1 kleines Stück Butter (!), einer Marmelade und einem Ei, sowie diversen Salatblättern und Gurkenscheiben. Das ganze für nichtmal 6€. Ein großer Kaffee und ein kleines Glas O-Saft komplettierten meine Bestellung. Summa summarum 10,50€. Also eigentlich Top, wenn da nicht der Service wäre. Satte 30 Minuten dauerte es bis überhaupt jemand unsere Bestellung aufnehmen wollte und das wahrscheinlich auch erst nachdem wir im Café nett nachgefragt hatten. Eine schnippische Bemerkung später, wurden dann unsere Bestellung aufgenommen. Auf die Frage was denn der Unterschied zwischen einem großen und einem kleinen Glas O-Saft wäre, gab es die passende Antwort (im bekannten Ton) der Bedienung "steht eigentlich auf der Karte", danke für den Tipp. Das Frühstück dauerte wie auch von anderen bereits bemängelt relativ lange, war dafür schön angerichtet und sehr lecker. Gezählt wurden übrigens ca. 11 Gäste und 3 Bedienungen (wobei mindestens einer wohl der Koch persönlich war), was die Wartezeit nicht wirklich relativiert. We booked a table for 6 and were really excited to go to the place. Unfortunately half of the Smoothies/Milkshakes weren´t available since they got no delivery of fruits/vegetables that morning. Ordering and getting a coffeee took about 40 minutes. Getting a small "Berliner"-breakfast took almost an hour. The service was bad.
