I visited the restaurant on 10.02.2023 with my friend. One of the best Indian restaurants not only in Chemnitz but also in Germany*. Detailed review: Location: I had a Humboldt Network meeting in Chemnitz this February. I was searching for a decent restaurant after the meeting and found this restaurant at the heart of the city. Very convenient location. Near to the Carl Marx monument/red tower at Chemnitz. Menu: Variety of veg and nonveg items, Quantity and Price: I took a veg item (Kadai Paneer). A bowl of rice, and papad were supplementary. I also took a cup of tea and an additional garlic naan. Sufficient quantity and all those came under only 10.50 Euros. Taste: Perfect. Except the tea could be a little better. Cleanliness, and Staff: Very clean, tidy toilet, and polite, friendly staffs. The staffs requested me to give a review afterwards if I am satisfied and here it is :-) I would definitely recommend...
Read moreI have tried almost all indian restaurants that I know of in Chemnitz. This was an ok experience.
[Starters] First of all, the complimentary starter (6 crackers) was served with only one (small portion) of sauce, whereas other desi restaurants provide 4 to 5 different sauces and pickles.
[Main Course] The taste of the food was just fine. The ratio and proportion of spices were off. Naan bread, on the other hand, was fine. Garlic Naan was fairly better. The dishes we ordered the following with my ratings for each. Chicken Karhai (Rating 5 out of 10) Daal Makhni (Rating 5 out of 10) Palak Paneer (Rating 4 out of 10) Simple Naan (Rating 6 out of 10) Garlic Naan (Rating 7 out of 10)
[Drink] Three Jeera Jal drinks were ordered, and those were really good.
[Environment] The environment of the restaurant is really good. Indian music is being played all the time. This is a really clean and...
Read moreFor a city like Chemnitz, there are already 4 main Indian restaurants in and around city center and this one is even near Rathaus. Ambience : reasonable Drinks : mango Lassi - really good Masala chai - absolutely blant and lacked flavor Starter : mixed starter plate - samosas were cold in the middle and lacked flavours, few pakoras were undercooked
Main dish : Okra, daal ( really good), garlic tandoori naan was absolutely bad and was tasting like a pizza bread of cheap quality Mixed korma and kofta were edible
Waiters and staffs should be careful on how they handle glasses and focus more on organizing and cleanliness behind the bar. ( one can see how things are handled behind the bar)
Should also listen to constructive criticism.( when it comes to remarks regarding dishes)
Value for money - Not worth it. But always room...
