I had the pleasure of visiting Gogi Matcha, an enchanting Korean restaurant in Cologne, and my culinary experience was nothing short of stunning. Atmosphere: Upon entering, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior was subtly lit with soft, earthy tones, creating a cozy ambiance. The combination of traditional Korean elements and contemporary decor gave the restaurant a unique character. Service: The staff deserves all the praise. They were attentive, friendly, and willing to assist in making menu choices. My questions about the dishes were answered with enthusiasm, contributing to the overall positive experience. Menu: I discovered the subtlety of a limited but carefully curated menu. Despite the absence of abundant choices, the experience offered more than enough to relish. My choice landed on Bulgogi and Mandu, both a pleasant surprise of refined flavors. The emphasis on quality over quantity was noticeable in every bite. Fresh ingredients, artistic presentation, and unmistakably authentic flavors showcased a thoughtful culinary approach. At Gogi Matcha, it's all about the art of simplicity, where limited choices open the door to a realm of refinement. The restaurant proves that greatness isn't always dependent on the size of the menu but rather on the care and attention with which each dish is crafted. Highlights: A highlight of my dinner was the Bulgogi, tender grilled beef marinated in a delicious sauce. The flavors exploded in my mouth, and the meat literally melted on my tongue. The side dishes, such as the spicy kimchi and refreshing pickles, added an extra dimension to the meal. Price-Quality Ratio: Although Gogi Matcha is considered a high-end restaurant, the quality of the food and service justifies the price. The portion sizes were generous, and every bite was a sensory delight. Overall: Gogi Matcha offers an authentic Korean culinary experience in the heart of Cologne. Whether you're a fan of Korean cuisine or simply looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this restaurant deserves a spot on your culinary bucket list. Fantastic service and a cozy atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

As we have 8 people, we pretty much ordered every single item on their rather small menu. Our favourite dish was the seafood pancake. The kimchi pancake was too salty. One of the Jigaes was good, the one with kimchi and egg. The other two were not great, one was too spicy and the other too bland. The main dishes were mediocre, none particularly outstanding. All were too salty and most of them weren't korean dishes at all. Teriyaki chicken or tofu is Japanese so dishes lack authenticity. All the main dishes and Jigaes came with a bowl of rice. Overall, the food was so-so. They didn't accept reservations so it was difficult to dine here during exhibition days. We could only go on the last day when it was not very busy. Very disappointed as the food didn't live up to our expectations. I won't recommend nor come back.

Gogi Matcha is a popular restaurant that offers a fun and modern atmosphere. The restaurant can fill up quickly, so it's best to arrive early to secure a seat. Despite the crowds, the friendly and attentive service provided by the staff is noteworthy, and they go out of their way to ensure that each customer feels welcome. The waitress who served me was friendly and all smiles. The food at Gogi Matcha is priced around 18 euros per dish. I ordered the cheese buldak, which is a popular dish. It was good, but could have used more chicken. However, the banchan that comes with the meal, including fresh kimchi, dempura, and mayo corn, was tasty and satisfying. Keep in mind - if paying with card, their minimum payment is 25 euros

Unfortunately had a very weird experience here where I got scammed with change.

I wanted to pay in cash for my dinner and gave the waiter a 50€ bill to pay for 22€ dinner.

He gave me back 8€ instead of 28€. When I told him it’s too little he started arguing that I gave him 30€ not 50€. We went back and forth a few times. He insisted he saw me giving him 2 bills, which just wasn’t the case.

He agreed to count the cash in the register to see if there’s any access and after 2 minutes of “counting” said that everything is correct.

I left because I thought maybe I was imagining things, but tbh e more time went by the more clear I remembered giving him a 50€.

Here’s what I think happened: he was holding the 20 & 10 bills to give me change and then asked me if I have 2€ extra so he can give me round change, I said I don’t and to round it up. He must have got confused in this moment and thought that was the money I gave him.

That’s fair, happens. But to “count” the money and then so blatantly lie that everything is right is just unacceptable. I left with a very bad...
