Kuchi Mami — Restaurant in Cologne

I was really impressed with the food,I didn't expected to be that good,so let me tell you my experience.

10/10 Food: we had for appetizer some spring rolls saigo with shrimp,gyoza they were great and so tasty nice filling. For main dish we had some duck and pho(don't remember full name it was soup with noodles onions and some green things)I loved the duck with the rice and the sauce so many flavors I couldn't tell,that goes the same with the pho dish,so good so many flavors a lil bit spicy for the cold weather was perfect. In the end,we had some sushi,you might think I overreact but I had to eat sushi like this tasty from Japan 4 years ago. This is sushi is top level. Of course top quality and quantity.

Service 10/10: so the person who got our order was a girl with nice smile so welcoming,as a Greek huge guy I am, one girl and two others,she helped us,gave us advice,tips and more to make our dinner enjoyable. Of course no language barrier she spoked English.she was perfect.

Environment 8,5/10: I loved the environment but not the music,they had some sad lofi music that didn't suit with the environment.

I was in Köln 4 days for Tony Robbin’s. 2 nights I ate here because it was next to the hotel and spent about 300 Euros. Tried almost everything and food was great. The third time I was there at 21.15 and they told me the kitchen closes at 22.00. I then ordered some sushi for first course and special sushi creations that were warm for second course. The waitress told me that the kitchen said I should have everything together because they want to make everything together then close and go home. I insisted that I want to have it as 2 course because there was 52 pieces and I don’t want to have them cold. She said ok and then served me the first course at 21.30. When I got the second course at 21.45 it was cold. I asked the waitress and she said she was sorry because the kitchen made it all together and she can’t do anything about it. We came during dinner time. The server was very friendly and the food was also served very quickly. We ordered the "honey duck", "beef pho" and 6 nigiris (salmon, tuna, eel).

The duck was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce was served seperately in a small bowl, so the duck didn't become soggy. The sauce was also wellade and not too salty.

The pho was very authentic with a nice broth and noodles. It was topped with lots of beef.

The sushi was also well made, which is often not the case in Germany. They used a very delicious part of the salmon, which you can see on the nice white and orange color of the flesh. The only negative thing about the sushi was the price. Totally overpriced (2 salmon nigiri 5€, 2 tuna nigiri 5€, eel nigiri 6€). But I didn't substract a star, since I knew the price beforehand, so it's not really the ownera fault.
