La Cantina Da Pasquale UG — Restaurant in Cologne

I wanted to give this place 2 stars after eating the food (and that because from everything only the bread was good). But then the bill came and we were “surprised” with the price of €39 for the Tartufo pasta, even if on the ‘Tagesmenu’ was only indicated the price of €25. Apparently we did not clarify if the price was for this pasta or another one 😀(too bad I did not take a picture). [So before you order something, please make sure the waiter writes it down for you and signs the paper 😂] Moreover, the dishes were over salted, super fatty and unpleasant to eat. Out of courtesy we did not send them back to the kitchen, and tried our best to just finish them and leave. But the way the waiters handled the situation at the end made us wish we would have sent the dishes back. On top, as a reaction to our complain, the waiter reminded us we should be grateful for getting a plate of food as ‘present’ because we brought the voucher from the Schlemmerblock .. okaaay😅😅 Anyhow, we certainly regretted our choice of getting dinner at this place and will never...

Just finished dinner here. This really deserves FIVE STARS. I wrote on another post how egregious the other two restaurants across the street (Luciano’s and Damianos) are but had not finished the entire meal here. Well, now I’m done and HOLY C_ _ _ this place was CRAZY GOOD! Everything that Luciano’s and Damianos is not - warm, welcoming, friendly and family run and the most important issue, THE FOOD, is higher rated and well-deserved since best I have had yet in Europe! This is all about THE BEST FOOD HANDS DOWN near the Hilton which is La Cantina and then, only then, the difference in attitude which makes this a NO BRAINER. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Das Restaurant macht zwar auf den ersten Blick einen ordentlichen Eindruck doch wer mal genauer hinschaut wird mehr als geschockt sein. Im Restaurant läuft ein kleiner Hund rum der auch im Restaurant sein Fressnapf hat. An diesem bedienen sich leider auch andere Tiere die in einem Restaurant noch weniger zu suchen haben als ein Hund. Ich bin selber Hundebsitzer und wenn ich meinen Hund schon mitnehme dann sollte er angeleint sein. Dieser läuft durch alle Gänge und sogar in die Küche. Die Küche sollte das Herzstück ein Hauses Restaurants sein. Diese ist der reinste Drecksladen. Unsauber an jeder Ecke (man kann direkt rein schauen). Der Hund war ebenfalls hier in der Küche und hat vom Boden gegessen.

Der Service ist unterirdisch. Wenn du ein Mitarbeiter von der gegenüberliegenden Bank bist wirst du auf Händen getragen. Sonst behandelt man dich gerne mal wie Luft. Das Essen war auf den ersten Blick zwar gut doch nachdem ich die Toiletten besucht habe soweit sauber da gerade eine Dame gegen 12:00 Uhr sie gereinigt hat, und ich hier den Koch hab aus der Toilette kommen sehen der in der Kabine geraucht hat und sich nicht einmal die Hände gewaschen hat war für mich dann alles ganz vorbei.

Ich brauche kein Sterne Restaurant doch da wo mit Essen gearbeitet wird egal ob Restaurant oder Imbiss sollte es immer auch hinter den Kulissen sauber sein. Das ist hier leider...
