Restaurant Orient Hof - Köln — Restaurant in Cologne

My experience at the restaurant was far from satisfactory. When I arrived with my guests, I was hoping for an 8-person table, but unfortunately, one was not available. Even the staff did not offer assistance in accommodating our group, so we had to make do with a 4-person table and add three extra chairs ourselves. To make matters worse, a small child was present, and we had to manage the seating arrangement while the child was eating.

The waiter's service was disappointing as well. He did not give us enough time to make our choices, and his attitude towards us was quite rude. We ordered three broasted chicken meals, three shawarma Arabic plates, and two shawarma sandwiches. The chicken was not properly cleaned, as we noticed chicken hairs both on the skin and underneath the breading. The fried fries were black, burnt, and overcooked, making them inedible. This made us stop eating, and my guests were also dismayed by the poor quality of the food. The chicken itself was not cooked well either.

The shawarma sandwiches were dry, with little chicken and sauce, making them difficult to eat without a beverage. After we finished our meal, I went to the restroom, only to find that both the men's and women's toilets had run out of toilet paper. Additionally, the overall cleanliness of the toilets left much to be desired, especially the sink area, which had an unpleasant odor.

Furthermore, the waiter's behavior was unacceptable. He displayed a lack of satisfaction in serving us and was not considerate or friendly towards our child. Considering all these factors, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, and in my opinion, it deserves a rating lower than zero stars. I will certainly not be returning or giving it another chance...

Who knew the best shawarma in the world would be hiding in a tiny shop in Köln? 🇩🇪

I must say, this shawarma spot is hands down the best shawarma I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve traveled the world and eaten shawarma across the Middle East and shockingly, the best one is tucked away in a little shop in Köln 😬

The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned, juicy meat wrapped in warm, soft bread, with just the right amount of garlic sauce and crunch from the pickles. Every bite was a flavor bomb.

And don’t even get me started on the fries their version is so unique. Sliced potatoes with a perfectly balanced seasoning that makes them addictive. I could eat a whole tray on their own.

If you’re in Köln and love shawarma this place is a must. I’d give it 10...

The food was not good, oily, old. The service is the worst, the guy in the cashier is super stressed und doesn’t know how to talk to the customers. We were a big group and we want to order separate but he was angry because he wanted us to order and pay as group. Even when we ask him to add or remove certain ingredients or salad he refused to do so and was angry the whole. I ordered a crispy sandwich, I asked him to cut it in half but he looked at me in angry face and said no I cant and I insisted to cut it and he did it and throw it infront of my face. Like why ???
