Ristorante Alfredo — Restaurant in Cologne

I’m someone who definitely doesn’t regret spending money on delicious food. However spending money at Alfredo’s, I deeply regret. From beginning to the end, an absolutely atrocious experience.

Don’t know where to start… The lack of transparency: no menu card was provided, so it took ages to order. Having to ask for a price of each individual dish or wine.

Exceptionally rude staff: the main waiter didn’t want to accept the fact I am vegetarian and that I wanted to eat pasta, insisting on them being fish specialists (not what it’s written on their website). I felt like I was being shamed for “only ordering pasta” even tho I did order the most expensive wine. That unfriendly waiter insisted that I am obliged to order a starter in case I wanted to stay. I told him I’d go, then he said they would make sn exception and make me stay. An absolute no go!

Poor food quality: puzzles me how this restaurant got a Michelin star. Paid €25 for 6 overcooked pasta pieces with some tomato sauce. Smaller than a child portion.

Poor ambiance, cheap furniture and decoration. No music. No candles. No flowers. Just metal tables and chairs. Don’t go there. If you want better real Italian food, for a more reasonable price, go to Da Me or...

I am sure the food is very delicious. Unfortunately, we were denied entry because the staff did not recognise my partner’s full vaccination status that was clearly shown in the app in an obvious green colour. We also had tests, thus filling the 2g plus requirements but the staff and the owner refused to recognise a covid recovery + 1 moderna dose as fully immunised and so didn’t let us in. Night and celebration ruined because of the disinformation (I would even say ignorance and refusal to try to understand what is happening). I would expect a better understanding of laws and regulations from a fine dining...

Nachtrag... italiano. Oh sì, l'Alfredo è un ristorante stellato Michelin. Gli inviti provengono dal nostro team di gestione tedesco. Ciò significa che vedrò quanto è bello. Sì, vedremo, la scorsa settimana ho cenato al The Ritz di Londra ed è stato meraviglioso e meraviglioso. Va bene ora in un ristorante con una stella Michelin a Colonia. La segretaria ha prenotato un tavolo e il nostro manager ha ordinato in tedesco. Che spettacolo dal servizio tutto ciò che ci è stato pubblicizzato. Secondo. i pasti sono davvero buoni e più italiani di altri ottimi ristoranti italiani. Terzo. Le bevande sono buone e costose. Mettiamola così, "semplicità classica ad altissimo livello".
