You MUST trust my review, I'm an Indian by birth, and I have an experience of Indian food for at least 20 years and I am a well-versed cook regarding various Indian cuisines. I went here, because a lot of Indians in town told me that it's a decent restaurant, but I wasn't expecting much from it. My friend and I ordered mango lassi which was good and Chicken pakora. The Chicken pakora was fine, nothing special. For the mains, I ordered Chole Masala and my friend ordered Kadhai Chicken. Both of our curries were sweet and nothing like "the taste of India". Also, the gravy of both curries had the same flavor profile. For any Indian who knows Indian food, they know that Amritsari Chole Masala is NOT sweet. It is subtly spicy and savory, but not sweet. It is one of the most basic cooking recipes of India and they could not get that right. And for the Kadhai Chicken, it had the same gravy, less salt and mildly sweet as well. I think if you ordered all the curries from the menu, the gravy would taste the same in each one. I mean, I had two spoons of my curry. I couldn't eat more. The saddest thing is that foreigners think this is what Indian food tastes like. No curry in India is sweet unless otherwise mentioned. I mean, it is so upsetting to eat such food in a widely known restaurant of Dresden. I've had Indian food at smaller places in town, and they are at least worth what they are charged for. If you know how to cook Indian food, just eat at home. Don't go to restaurants like these and...
Read moreWe were there on 12.10 around 9 pm. I was with my 6 friends and it wasn't much crowded in Restaurant. We were discussing what to order and in between the waitress (A lady with Specs in her 60s) came 3 times in 5 mins, seemed like she was forcing us to order fast. We ordered and waited for like 45 mins, didn't get any information about how much time will it require to get served, finally We're served. One dish was missing and she said i never ordered that and said it was my mistake not her(never experienced this before). About food: The Lamb was raw, we ordered Butter Naan, there was no Butter on it and was very Dry and The waitress's behaviour was constantly very impolite, we asked several times for menu card and every time either she was neglecting us or showing us how unpleasant she is from us(like she don't like customers at all). At the end we complained these things with the Boss and she said, the waitress is foolish, she don't know how to talk with people. Was very convincing from the Boss to hear this that they employ such people. Would never suggest anyone...
Read moreAs someone who loves authentic Indian food, I rarely eat at Indian restaurants in Europe anymore—it’s almost always a waste of time and money. Many places here have altered the recipes beyond recognition to cater to local tastes, especially in Germany where spice is toned down to the point that only the dish names remain Indian.
This place was no exception. I ordered chole bhatura and was served what can only be described as a deep-fried slice of regular bread loaf and that’s it. When I asked the waitress if she knew what chole bhatura actually was, she confidently said that’s what it was. That was my warning sign.
Still, we were hungry, so we decided to try the main course. Unfortunately, it only got worse—rubbery, flavorless paneer and a dal makhani that tasted like watery lentils with cream. No spice, no depth, no authenticity.
If you’ve ever eaten real Indian food, this will only make you miss home cooking even more. Another disappointing “Indian”...
