Nestled in the bustling heart of Dresden Neustadt, Oswaltz is an absolute gem of a café that expertly balances a simple yet cosy interior design with a dedication to serving top-notch coffee and delectable cakes. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by warm wooden features and quirky artwork adorning the walls, creating an inviting atmosphere that beckons you to stay awhile and soak in the vibrant life of Neustadt.

The true star of Oswaltz is its exceptional coffee, brewed to perfection using beans sourced from Phoenix Coffee Roasters, a local Dresden roastery. The French roast served here is truly a coffee lover's dream—smooth, rich, and full-bodied, a testament to the skill and passion of the baristas behind the counter. Each sip is a delightful experience that leaves you longing for more.

But Oswaltz is not just a one-trick pony—the café also excels in its selection of scrumptious cakes. We tried their coffee brownie and lavender cake, both of which were nothing short of divine. The rich flavors and delicate textures of these treats perfectly complement the exceptional coffee, making for a truly indulgent experience.

Service at Oswaltz is friendly and welcoming. The café offers ample seating inside and a few tables outside, with large windows allowing for an abundance of natural daylight to flood the space. The outdoor tables provide an excellent opportunity to watch the life of Neustadt pass by, adding to the overall charm and appeal of this wonderful café.

In summary, Oswaltz is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a cosy haven in Dresden Neustadt. With its understated design, sublime coffee, delicious cakes, and attentive service, this delightful café captures the essence of what makes a truly enjoyable...

This place is very conveniently located in Neustadt, which means there may be a wait to be seated, though you can enjoy a coffee or tea while you wait next door at the adjoining (technically the same establishment) cafe. The coffee is really good and makes any wait tolerable. We didn't get any Kuchen but they looked delicious in the display. The service came and retrieved us as soon as a table was available in the restaurant and we perused the menu. They offer them in German and English versions (and the works all speak English), so it's very tourist friendly. The menu isn't huge but the limited items they do have, they do very well. I got the Pancakes and my date opted for the Eggs Benedict. She couldn't stop raving about how they were the best she's had in a long time, and after taking a bite, I tend to agree. Fantastic! The pancakes were also super fluffy with lots of fruit topping and sauce, so if you're into sweet, it's a solid choice. We probably would have gotten another coffee or dessert if we'd had time because everything was so wonderful, but we had a train to catch so asked for the bill, which came quickly. We were very pleased with our last meal in Dresden and will definitely be stopping in here again next time...

✅ Soya milk possibility for lactose-free people 🍼🍼🍼 ❎ unfortunately gluten-free guys will leave home without dessert 🚫🍰 , these who can eat everything , have a cake , its so delicious! ✳Be aware its hard to catch free seat its almost always full and mostly noisy , reather meet a friend and make another noise, don't read a book and don't connect to wi-fi, its mostly not working. ✳ go smoke outsite 🚫🚬 ✅ you can get best coffee in Dresden "Phoenix", in two roasting options : Full-city and MIDDLE ROASTING ✳ middle roasted coffee with FILTER brewing options ! But, off the record, in my opinion if you are COFFEE FREAK go directly to Phoenix coffee place, 10 minutes away on the same street . Barista in Phoenix's will prepare you better filter with patience and love without any hurry, because its really, really small place, with just few bar-seats, with the same brand of coffee. And guys, this is not complaining about Oswald's, I know they definitely doing the best, fly around the fullfilled room of noisy people. 🍵🍵🍵🍵🔉🔊🔉🔊 ✅ terrace seating ✅ comfortable, sympatic atmosphere ✅ kind personal

Arrived by blablacar ride share from Berlin in the afternoon and wanted to get my bearings and line up a place to stay for the night, so I looked for a cafe nearby with quiet seating a little off a main street. The reviews and photos helped me decide so I stopped in for a large Americano (3€) and WiFi. Ended up staying for 2 hours until close, checking CS and hostels nearby, calling a friend back home, and even repacking my bags somewhat. It was not busy and the two servers were quick and friendly. They gave me a number holder and brought my drink when it was ready. The music selection inside was relaxed, and the large patio outside is good for a quiet place to sit, but the internet connection is greatly reduced.
