Chocolate Dream — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

We are visiting Düsseldorf and this cafe was recommended to us via TikTok. After some research the cafe looked good online. Unfortunately the food was so tasteless and uncreative that we did not go beyond sampling it (we ordered the avocado bread and a relax breakfast). Firstly, the avocado bread was on 'schwarzbrot' black bread. The presentation was 2 pieces of bread no more than 1 scrambled egg and 2 small slices of avocado. The relax breakfast was a Joghurt with fresh fruits and Müsli. There was so much honey on it that it was far to sweet to eat and the Joghurt was somewhat curdled. Perhaps that is the style of yogurt, but it just didn't taste right. Furthermore, the drinks that we ordered were overheated milk. The hot chocolate had no taste of chocolate and the chai latte (with a shot of coffee) was just hot sugar syrup. We were in the cafe no more than 15min when we asked to pay, the waiter was friendly and he listened to our concerns however we still payed for the breakfast we did not eat. He did offer us a free drink, but after the bad food and drink experience we declined and left the restaurant. We would not recommend this cafe for someone who is looking for a individualized, unique and creative...

Ich war im Chocolate Dream zwei Mal zu Gast, jeweils am Sonntagmittag und Sonntagnachmittag. Die Gerichte, die man hier bestellen kann, reichen von deftigen Burgern über Waffeln bis hin zu Eiscreme. Beim ersten Mal bestellte ich die Waffeln mit Erdbeeren und Eis, die leider ohne Schokoladensauce ankam. Die Reklamation war etwas holprig, da die Kellnerin die Karte nicht beherrschte. Bei meinem zweiten Besuch bestellte ich die Tomatensuppe, welche mich auch nach 30 Minuten Wartezeit nicht erreichte. Nach Rücksprache mit dem Kellner war die Suppe nicht in Auftrag gegeben worden. Daher bestellte ich den Chickenburger mit Country Potatoes, welcher mich nach 15 Minuten serviert wurde. Beide Male bestellte ich einen Latte Macchiato, welcher mit einem Stück Schokolade serviert wurde und lecker war. Beim zweiten Mal bestellte ich während der Wartezeit einen frischen Minztee, der mit Honig serviert wurde und köstlich war. Die Speisen, die man beim Chocolate Dream erhält sind sehr schmackhaft, ebenso wie die Getränke. Die Servicekräfte sind jedoch überfordert und/oder noch nicht gut genug eingearbeitet, was die Qualität des Besuches vermindert. Insgesamt empfehle ich den Besuch in diesem Lokal wenn man die nötige Wartezeit und Geduld mitbringt. Die Leitung sollte jedoch ein Auge auf die Schulung ihrer Servicekräfte legen. ☆☆☆

Aktualisierung: Bei meinem dritten Besuch bestellte ich erneut einen Latte Macchiato, der wie erwartet sehr lecker war. Anlässlich der Bitte des Lokals, Bewertungen anzugeben, wurde meine Bewertung von dem leitenden Personal zur Kenntnis genommen und die bisherigen Probleme im Servicebereich mit häufigem coronabedingtem Personalmangel erklärt. Der Kontakt war sehr menschlich und ich freue mich, dass hier Wert auf konstruktive Kritik gelegt wird. Daher erhält das Lokal einen weiteren Stern dazu. Hier kommt man doch gerne wieder zu Besuch. ☆☆☆☆

Zweite Aktualisierung: Bei meinem vierten Besuch bestellten meine Begleitung und ich einen San Sebastian Käsekuchen auf Empfehlung des Kellners und Mini-Pancakes mit Nutella und Bueno, sowie einen Chai-Latte und einen frischen Minztee. Die Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam (einer der Stühle war defekt) und haben Getränke und Essen sehr schnell geliefert. Es war sehr lecker, so dass ich dem Chocolate Dream gerne fünf Sterne...

One of the worst places in Dusseldorf. If i could i would rate with zero stars. At first, two different waiters refused to our order with an excuse that the place was too crowded, although it wasnt. The first one asked us to wait for 15 mins and after 15 mins the second one told us that they dont take new orders. It was 17.40 o'clock and the place close at 21.00. Suddenly and to our great surprise one of them went to take a new order to another table. We went to complain to the supervisor who eventually decided to take the order. So, about what we order... The coffee was really bad. The pancakes had the minimum amount of Nutella and they tasted bad and last but not least they never managed to deliver us the...
