Frittenwerk Bilk — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

I recently was here to grab a snack before shopping at Real (it’s never good to grocery shop while starving). Here’s what I observed while dining there: there are a lot more menu options now night club type music playing loudly making it difficult to hear the person taking the order, especially with masks on prices have increased significantly since the last time I was there (about 9 months ago). More than 25% increase according to what I remember. Might be because of a surcharge due to Covid-19 (?) not sure. the chef putting the order together did so with care and precision portion size was small, I counted about 20 or less fries in the paper tray that was served the poutine I ordered came with falafel which were very well cooked, crunchy and healthy tasting after spending 9,20 euro for the food and drink I ordered and finishing eating I was still hungry

Overall I would say this is a highly overpriced experience for the little amount of food you get. I would prefer to go to the food cart directly in front of Real which is much cheaper (less than 3 euro), more fries and the nice guy there seems very eager to have more customers. I can do without the fancy toppings which only add calories, and the night club music is also unnecessary.

Brown sauce 10/10. Super authentic, possibly the best brown sauce I’ve had outside Quebec. Fries 7/10. If they were fresh I think they would have been amazing. Obviously got a good crunch normally, but mine were a bit old and chewy. Cheese 3/10. As a cheese it was tasty, good melt, did its job. As poutine squeaky cheese it was… not. at all. The poutine was a great delicious poutine, but for those Quebecois looking for some squick squick on their fries, unfortunately I think it’s important to mention that you’ll be disappointed.

Service 7/10. Super friendly and fast, would have been 10. But 2 different employees checked my order while looking at the poutine, and both of them ignored my special instructions. So I had to throw away some unwanted food, instead of it just not being put...

I asked for the topping to be packed separately, rather than being put on top of the fries. This was because I was taking it home and didn't want the topping to make my fries cold. This was a problem for the lady. She said that this was not something they did but to ask the man trying the chips. He confirmed that they couldn't pack my topping separately. When I told him that I'd had the topping packed separately the previous day he said he'd do it this one but if I came again, they wouldn't. What is wrong with this request? Please can you tell me why you have a problem with complying with something so simple to achieve and so easy to deliver and please the customer???
