We had 3 summer rolls (beef, chicken, and shrimp) followed by beef glass noodles.
Both dishes had salads which tasted very fresh.
However, the summer "spring" rolls barely had any flavor. All 3 tasted the same on their own which was very disappointing. All 3 had fresh mint, which we love, but completely overpowered the palette. All 3 came with the same lemongrass sauce, which was tasty and fresh, but also overpowered the palette.
The summer rolls clearly did not have enough salt and seasoning inside, and the whole mint leaves combined with the sauce made the 19eur starter disappointing.
As for the 15eur beef glass noodles, the beef was fresh and not overcooked. However, it also lacked salt and flavor.
The main component with seasoning in the dish was the noodles themselves. Unfortunately, the colour and feel of the noodles reminded us of coca cola gummies, which is not pleasant.
The restaurant does not offer the option to replace noodles or rice with zucchini or cauliflower rice, which is annoying for low-carbers and anyone who wants to cut down on carbs & sugar.
They also don't serve any ciders, but do offer Asian style cocktails, teas, and drinks.
One upside was the server, and he's the reason why this review gets 3 stars. He was smiley and friendly, and even though he couldn't speak English well, he really tried his best.
The total for 1 small beer, a large bottle of water, the 3 summer rolls, and 2 beef glass noodles was nearly 60eur, which is disappointing for the food experience.
Based on the food, we probably won't...
Read moreWe have been there with two people on a Saturday evening. We reserved before. Directly got our table. Their selection of dishes is not too much, but also not too little. We had Curries: Mango Curry and Peanut Curry. Both were 17-18€ with chicken. Their prices vary depending on the protein source added to the dish. The curries were fine-ish. They garnish the curries with salad in the same bowl. The addition of a salad was nice, but only for the first bite. With the first fork of salad you get some fresh salad on your fork, but at the same time you will push the rest of the salad into the curry sauce, resulting in soggy salad. The curry tasted fine-ish, the veggies were nice. Only the chicken was spiced separately from the curry and put on top. Somehow the spices of the chicken did not add up for us together with the curries. It looks like they put the same spices on all chicken and just top it on different curries. Over all the store looked fine, the staff was nice, but the dishes did not feel completely thought through. I'd be fine with that at a lower price tier, but here...
Read moreWorst PHO I’ve ever had! I ordered classic PHO mit Rindfleisch. In my opinion, PHO(especially the soup) should be fresh and light, like I always experience. But this time the soup was too thick and too spicy. I have to mention here that the spicy was due to big amount of black pepper, but not chili.
One more thing. They even do not put the bean sprouts in the PHO, making me feel like they are not paying effort on it.
And about the Rindfleisch: (1) the cutting shows again they are not doing PHO with heart. The meat was thick strips or or just lumpy. (2) actually if the meat tastes tender, the cutting is not a big problem. But it tastes tough, partly because of cutting, the rest I guess is the meat itself and the process...
