Kasematten Düsseldorf — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

Such a beautiful place, nice infrastructure and location but not worth a visit. There I experienced the most disrespectful and dishonest customer service, in Düsseldorf and in my life.

It was the first time a set my 👣 on this place. I was already shocked when I arrived that such a huge place doesn’t accept card. There must be some management problem going on in there.

Anyway l, I withdrew some money because I wanted to stay, watch the game, drink something and eat, I was starving.

I ordered an Aperol, and the waiter asked me to pay it right away, again super weird but fine maybe that’s their very inefficient system,or maybe because of the game they were a bit scared of loosing control of the people leaving the bar, can understand it.

Anyway, I paid the drink that costed 6.50, gave the waiter 50 euros. He went to change, came back with my change and gave me back 40.50. Without saying anything. I looked at the menu again and call him back. He looked at me and completely ignored me. I went after him and asked why he gave me only 40.50. He simply said “ I discount my tip, it normal in Germany to do that” . Absolutely not, I made him give it back to me. He said I should finish my drink and leave the bar, I replied to him saying “ lets them call the police, explain what you did and we decide who stays”. Then he left my table and I stayed until the game was over. In the next order I gave 10 euros as tip to the other nice waiter in instead.

I am always very happy to tip, but this kind of behaviour is unacceptable, stealing from customer, a person like that should not be dealing with customers. I don’t know the reasons behind his behaviour but nothing justifies being dishonesty. Shame on the management that allows such behaviour and shame on the owner who does watch his business closer. we went there to support our team Netherlands , we were group of 5 ( one man and 3 ladies from Japan and Holland ) one table got empty while we were standing there for almost half hour in rain , so we went to seat there and the waiter came and told us you can't seat here it is reserved for 20 person even though we were already there and on waiting! then we went seat somewhere far which hardly we were able to see but we order drinks,... and paid , in mid half of the game our friend went back on old table and saw only 4 people was seating there not 20 and they were also from Holland supporting same team as us , so our friend politely ask them if we can join them on same table and those people kindly accepted and were happy , when we all take our items to move to the table and start seating next to them , the same waiter came and said I told you , you are not allowed to seat here ( for no reason ) we said but the table is empty and those who reserved it they happily said we can join their table , so what's the matter !!!!!! Then the waiter went and bring a very aggressive huge bodyguard which were so harsh and aggressive and just with very rude manner told us move I said move ( I felt if we ask one more time why he was able to punch our face ).... we went there to enjoy and have good time with our guest but we found we waste our money on a place which there is zero customer service no respect no smile no welcome but full of discrimination! I was lured in by the fun live music. Don’t make the same mistake. I ordered a small beer but when the waiter brought a large 1 liter, I pointed out that I wanted a small and he said that what he brought is the standard size and the sizes on the menu do not apply. Yet when I looked around, there were plenty of locals with small beers that were clearly the same one I had ordered. I took it anyway even though there was no way I would finish it. However, I tried to mention it to another waitress that was passing by and once two words were out of my mouth, she shrugged and walked away as I was speaking! The insults didn’t end here. I dropped the menu by accident and before I could pick it up another waiter came over and was so rude about it. Finally my one liter glass that I didn’t even want had a large chip so when I drank from it, there was a little piece of glass that remained on my lips.
