Weißer Bär — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

Absolutely disgusting experience. After finishing my dinner, I tried to pay by credit card when the waiter told me the credit card machine was broken and that they were only taking cash (nobody told me that beforehand) I told him I only had 15 Euros (bull was 22). He suggested trying to get cash from the ATM in front, I said ok, although I never do this when traveling, so don't know the pins. He said I couldn't leave the restaurant without leaving something like my cellphone as a guarantee, which I discarded. None of my 3 cards were accepted on the ATM so I returned to the restaurant offering the 15 Euros I had. The discussion heated up, he called the owner by phone who suggested me leaving my cellphone until the next day when I should return with the 7 euros difference. I refused and the waiter didn't want to let me go until the police come. I said ok, call the police. We were on this situation when a nice guy from another table solved the problem paying the 7 euro difference!...

I am a regular visitor of some large cities in Germany: Koeln, Munich, Frankfurt, Duesseldorf but I actually was never surprised in a negative way as in this restaurant. It looks like a lot of German places, good food for a very good price. The food was half as good as in all other german places. The meat rubberish. But the worst was the extreme slow service. - Untill the guy noticed me still waiting, half an hour passed. Then he said 'a free coffee for you'. But at 20.30 not everybody's taste. He had forgotten me. Then at the dessert, he forgot me again... untill after 20 min I left, without dessert. Two stars because it was a very good price (18,50 warm plate...

Hallo werte Gastgeber, wir wollten gestern zu zweit dort Essen. Empfangen wurden wir mit einem, "Did you order'd two vodka/energy". Da waren wir schon etwas verdutzt. Naja hat sich geklärt, der Kellner hatte uns verwechselt. Nun gut wir nahmen Platz bestellten die Getränke und unser Essen. Mein Kollege bestellte den Schmorbraten, ich wollte den Burger. 20 - 25 min später kam dann das Essen. Wir bekamen beide Steakmesser, für den Burger ok, aber für den Schmorbraten, naja. Mein Kollege schnitt das Fleisch,(Steakmesser hatte seine Berechtigung) nahm einen Bissen, sprang auf, ging zur Theke und rief den Kellner zum Tisch, der kam dann auch nahm sich der Beschwerde an Das Fleisch war zäh, ungenießbar. In der Zwischenzeit schnitt ich den Burger an, von dem ca. 1,5cm dicken Patty waren je Seite ca 1-2mm angegart, der Rest war roh. Wir entschieden nichts neues zu bestellen und zu gehen. Der Kellner war sehr verständnisvoll, er hätte das so auch nicht gesehen und das können man ja nicht essen. Zu guter Letzt fragte er uns ob wir noch was essen wollten, ähm ja, aber nicht hier.

Daraufhin kam er mit vor die Tür und beschrieb er uns den Weg zu einem Restaurant, in dem es besser schmecken sollte. (🤣 ich dacht, ich spinne) So eine Antwort habe ich noch nie gekommen.
