We (3 of us) went there because we saw all the reviews. Was a Saturday night at 8pm. The host there told us that she was fully booked and that she couldn’t take us. Fair enough, we made reservations for the next day at 7:30pm. We were delayed by 15 mins due to a big storm that evening, we got there at 7:45pm. We waited to be seated. People were eating, looked delicious. We started looking at the menu and thinking of what to order. The host was maybe in the kitchen/ serving and finally came out to the main seating area after 8pm. We told her we had reservations and that we had been waiting. She said she was out of injera and that she had given away the last injera to the other table… according to Google, the restaurant is supposed to be open till 11pm. And she is out of food, she said she cannot serve us. Idk what use the reservation was… we went to another Ethiopian restaurant in the neighbourhood called Okra and they were very easygoing and we had a good dinner. I think Yatana either needs more staff or needs fo make enough food to feed its customers… very frustrated after being...
Read moreI had a wonderful dining experience at Yatana! The food was nice, with well-balanced flavors and generous portions that made it worth every bite. One thing I really appreciated was that the dishes were freshly prepared and cooked to order, ensuring everything arrived hot and full of flavor.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating a cozy setting for a relaxed meal. What truly stood out, though, was the service. Our waitress was simply marvellous—attentive, friendly, and always ready with a smile. She made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
The wait time was a bit longer than expected, likely because everything is made fresh. However, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it well worth the wait. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend Yatana to anyone looking for a great meal...
Read moreI have to admit that my expectations were quite high based on the reviews but the restaurant is by far not five star rating worth. A mediocre two stars fits it well. The food is decent, but way to spicy. As if you order the most spicy level of food but this is nowhere to be seen on the menu. The portions are very small - when you pay 10-20 Euro for a dish you can expect to get 400-500gr food - here, you get more like 250-300gr. So don't go hungry there. Spicy and salty food - you will need water. A bottle of water is checked at 5€. More like chinese buffet prices, but anyway. On top of that the waiters are extremely slow - you can wait and wait for them for ages to react or bring your orders. In all, it was an interesting experience, but I would not...
