Ariana Restaurant — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I heard very good things about Ariana Restaurant from an Afghan family, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to them.

We ordered the four-person platter, which included Afghani Pulao, lamb chops, and other grilled items. But to my surprise, the food was quite disappointing. The so-called Afghani Pulao wasn’t actually Afghani Pulao at all ,the rice underneath the grill was plain, and when we asked about it, they simply brought some carrots and kishmish to put on top.

The only thing I honestly enjoyed was the chutneys ,they were available in bottles, and you could use as much as you wanted with no restriction. Those chutneys were the only thing that saved the meal for us.

Overall, the food was not impressive. I’m sorry, but it just didn’t taste authentic or flavorful to me. Maybe others like it, but personally, I don’t. I prefer other Afghani restaurants I’ve tried in Frankfurt ,they were...

Food was okay not so exciting , as I was trying to order a karahi chicken the waiter said it will take 50 minutes to cook so I got myself something simple , the rice were cold when they arrived , we had to get them changed , also my boyfriend said the rice seemed like they were a day old and were warmed today ..

Service was also not good , we had to ask for spoons and glasses because the waiter was just all over the place , left us with only the food in a plate , and no one was paying attention! They need more workers if I’m being honest !

I don’t recommend, it is only the nostalgia factor with the Afghan music and setting but if you want good service and good food there are better places !

Edit: atmosphere is very tacky , and I don’t think they have good air conditioning at all , even sitting in front of a cooler it was extremely hot , tables and menus were sticky , food spicy ,...

Food was top notch! Nothing to add there but only compliments from the bottom of my heart. It was amazing. When it comes to service, it should be improved heavily. Too many servers running around everywhere. It should improve. Decor was pretty basic and did not give me the 'Afghan' experience. fake plastic flowers against the wall, random google stock images where printed and pasted against the wall, the speaker with music was so loud and right next to us. The next day we went back again for the lovely food, and when we asked the server for a seat, he gave us the same table of last time. We didn't want to sit there because of the speaker. When we asked if the speaker would be turned on agian this time, he told us no. But he did turn it on. Not a great experience to be lied to just to get dragged into the restaurant. 2 stars overall.
