Great hot pot restaurant!
Food: Broths were very nice. If you’re having hotpot for the first time I’d go with the standard clear broth and the classic Szechuan “Mala” broth. There were three spice levels of the Szechuan broth and we took the “least spicy” and although we enjoy spicy food and are familiar with Szechuan peppers and hotpots, this one’s “least spicy” was still pretty hot for us. But we absolutely loved it. The food items all had a great quality, we especially enjoyed the shrimp balls and the chrysanthemum veggies and all the mushroom options.
Staff: the lady who served us was so friendly and helpful with explaining the menu and the broths to us. She was very attentive and made sure to we had everything we needed. She even gave us aprons so we wouldn’t ruin our clothes. We came in the afternoon so it wasn’t busy, not sure how they do on a busy night.
Restaurant: very spacious and looks exactly like their location in Berlin! Good thing there are windows throughout the restaurant so you can open them in case you get too warm from the spice/steam of the hotpot or just don’t wanna smell like hotpot afterwards.
Price: I’m not sure if the prices are the same as their Berlin location however we paid quite a bit more in this location than we did in Berlin for almost the exact amount of food. It was well worth it for the experience, but be prepared to pay a high price.
Overall: We loved the experience and food here and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re...
Read moreDefinitely would give a 0 star if I could, why would these kind of chinese restaurants even exist?
First, as we have already seated as 2 person, a waitress came and asked us to move to another table because they got 3 guests coming. While I understand the need for flexibility, the manner in which we were approached was far from courteous.
Second, they treated ppl differently based on their ethnicity, while my Portuguese gf brought her family here, they were charged 3.5€ for small dishes. However, when I was there, they told me they’re free. (This inconsistency is unfair and misleading)
Third, the oranges they served have mold on it. This is not only unacceptable but also tarnish the reputation of chinese food.
Fourth, my gf has a diarrhea afterwards, leading to me to question the restaurant’s food hygiene standards, which already seems to have a bad fame.
Fifth, I don’t mind paying a bit more for good food and service, but for this shxx? This is utterly unjustifiable. It’s not worthy.
Hence, I wouldn’t recommend anyone who wants to try real chinese hotpot...
Read moreDo not wear fresh or delicate clothes when you come here. My washing hamper still reeks of garlic and sesame oil 1 week after I washed all the clothes I wore when I was there. You and your hair will be very smelly at the end of your visit. We also had to cough and sneeze a lot during our stay due to all the spices in the air. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful, but could have been more attentive. I did not appreciate that she started off by recommending a double pot - and when we asked for a triple she admitted that they had run out of triple pots. Aside from that she made us feel very welcome. The food was a mixed bag. While the quality was fine, I felt prices were over the top. Ultimately you do all the cooking yourself, and we lacked the imagination to get too adventurous (not forgetting that "mistakes" can get very costly here), so while I enjoyed the company, the food was mostly just okay. The homemade dumplings were the best, the others were frozen convenience products from the Asian...
