Café im Liebieghaus — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Aggressive, unprofessional, traumatising experience! Working/studying is not allowed, fyi. Visited on a quiet Tuesday morning to spend a few hours working with a friend. Our arrival coincided with an important meeting I had to attend. The café looks like a workspace (with a library room)on maps, and there are no information online or on Google Maps stating that laptop use or working is not allowed. We only noticed small stickers about it after we had already arrived and sat down. We had already bought coffee, the place was completely empty, and since we had no time to move elsewhere, we decided to attend the meeting and then leave to respect their rules. Around 10 minutes later, a man (possibly the owner) came and told us we had to leave immediately. We calmly explained that we didn’t know the rule and that we would leave right after the meeting, we just needed 15 minutes. He responded by yelling, saying, “This is my place, I do whatever I want. I don’t have to explain myself to anyone,leave immediately.” When we suggested it might be helpful to mention this policy on Google Maps so others could be prepared, he said he didn’t need to announce anything. He also said we “don’t understand anything because we’re not speaking German” while speaking completely fine English and slammed our water bottle on the table and said he will call security. We were just two women sitting quietly in a completely empty space with our already paid full coffees, already willing to follow the rules. His reaction was completely disproportionate. Its also extremely expensive btw. Its so sad that a really nice place in a really nice and touristic area is owned by...

The blonde girl that served us was extremely unpleasant. Additionaly, she demanded 1 Euro for the glass of water, even though I had a big bill before that and left I them a good tip in the basket. She also didn't give me the bill for that glass of water. Even the other girl that was working there seemed confused by the tone of voice and the demand of the blonde lady (the rude one). It is sad how some employees can spoil the impression of the place that could be really lovely. I don't think I will come there again, I really don't want to my friends or me to be treated with such disrespect...

“Wir haben uns als Familie zum Frühstücken in diesem Café getroffen, um den Geburtstag meiner Schwester zu feiern. Ich hatte extra einen selbstgebackenen Kuchen mitgebracht, um sie zu überraschen, aber der Kellner war unglaublich unfreundlich und hat uns sofort gesagt, dass wir den Kuchen nicht essen dürfen. Ich habe dann gefragt, ob wir wenigstens für das Geschirr zahlen könnten, um den Kuchen dort zu genießen, da wir ja schon Frühstück und Getränke bestellt hatten. Aber anstatt einer vernünftigen Antwort wurde uns einfach unfreundlich abgelehnt. Es ist ja nicht so, dass wir nur Wasser bestellt hätten und den Kuchen essen wollten. Jeder von uns (8 Personen) hatte 1-2 Frühstücksteller von der Karte und mehrere Getränke. Ich habe den Mann gefragt, was der Grund ist, dass wir im Anschluss den Kuchen nicht essen dürfen, obwohl wir für den Mehraufwand (8 Teller und ein Messer) zahlen wollten, er konnte mir keinen Grund nennen und hat nur wiederholt: ,,das geht nicht,das machen wir nicht“. Ich habe schon an mehreren Geburtstagen einen Kuchen gebracht und auch selbst einen bekommen und es wurde sogar angeboten, den Kuchen kaltzustellen und Teller vorzubereiten. Man hat dem Mann angesehen, wie verbittert er ist und dass er einfach anderen Personen einen schönen Tag verderben wollte. So jemand sollte auf keinen Fall im Service arbeiten. Fehlende Menschlichkeit und keinerlei Zuvorkommen haben dazu gebracht, dass ich mit dem Kuchen wieder rausgehen musste, er im Auto gestanden hat, weil er nicht mal am Tisch stehen durfte. So eine schlechte Erfahrung haben wir noch nie gemacht – überhaupt keine Kundenfreundlichkeit! Bei diesem Service hilft nicht mal die...
