While on foot to the Frankfurt main train station on a rainy day in Frankfurt, stopped in here to grab lunch and ride out the heavy rain. You choose your own ingredients, it's weighed by the cashier (very nice lady-maybe family run) and you choose the method of preparation, hotpot, mala drypot, and the level of spiciness you want. I ordered mala drypot, low spice. First try, I got tepid, flavorless "everything boiled in basically water" results. Not edible, I told them I would pay to have it recooked. 2nd try, again not very hot, still tepid, but now with less liquid and just spiciness and heavy salt. Mostly Asian (me too!) working folks with backpacks eating here on the day I visited. "Dry-ish pot" with a diet Coke, about $30. Very much missing the Malatang drypot in Flushing, NY where the ingredients are all stir fried separately and then combined harmoniously to create a well seasoned, and hot (temperature) final dish. Know it can't be easy for any immigrants to open a business in a foreign country, but sadly, this was not the best representation of...

Honestly, it’s a great spot to grab some malatang! As always, you can pick your own ingredients, veggies, meats, noodles, whatever you’re craving, and choose the level of spice and the type of broth you want. It’s super customizable, which makes it fun every time you go.

The service is also really quick. You don’t have to wait forever, which is great when you’re starving. Plus, the place is very clean and well-kept, which gives a good first impression. If the weather’s nice, there’s even outdoor seating, which adds to the experience.

And taste-wise, I t’s actually pretty authentic. The flavors remind me a lot of what you’d get in a real Chinese malatang spot.

Overall, whether you’re going with a friend or just need a solo spicy food fix, it’s a solid choice This place is definitely worth...

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The food didn’t taste fresh at all, and the flavor was really underwhelming—bland and overly greasy. Even worse, I had stomach issues shortly after eating here, which makes me seriously question the hygiene and food safety. The staff didn’t seem welcoming or professional either, which only added to the negative experience. The location is not safe. I definitely won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this...

Amazing experience at Sanggu Malatang! The restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the self-serve station is super convenient. The golden bowls of sauces are full of flavor, and the broth is perfectly balanced with a rich, spicy aroma. Every bite is packed with freshness and that authentic Sichuan taste. If you’re looking for delicious, high-quality malatang with great service, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!
