Volkswirtschaft — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I am in Germany for the first time in my life so I wanted to find a small local pub. I am not German and don't speak the language (I am learning), but was welcome here. There did not appear to be a physical "speisekarte", but the bartender helped me with what they had available.

The pub was active when I walked in but there were plenty of spots at the bar. I found a seat and ordered a beer - it was a fresh, crisp and cold pilsner, I believe. Bartender understood my bad german and english enough to offer me a käse plate as I was starving. It was a "stinky" käse, the name I do not recall. It came with sweet pickled onions, butter and several slices of rye brot. It was sehr gut for pub food. Only downside is meine frau would not come near me when I got back to the hotel, due to the smell of my breath lol!

One thing I noted was the bartender was friendly and seemed to be on great terms with everyone there.

Mein rechnung für three beers and the käse plate was 15 euros. Not bad all things considered. I should be in Frankfurt again this time next year so I will be back, hopefully with a little better grasp of...

An einer ruhigen Ecke der Kiesstraße und Jordanstraße gelegen, trifft sich dort alt und jung. Schnell werden Bänke oder mobile Hänge-Tische bereitgestellt. Alles zum Wohl der Gäste.

Das Essen ist jetzt kein Sterneniveau, aber für eine Lokalität wie diese absolut lecker und preislich super. Ich hatte Nudelsalat und Frikadellen - beides offensichtlich selbst gemacht. Die Getränke sind alle super (Büble vom Fass sowie Äppler von Matsch & Brei).

Wir sind zwar junge Leute, fühlen uns in der VoWi aber trotzdem sehr wohl. Die Getränke sind sehr gut. Die Preise wurden kürzlich (verständlicherweise) angehoben, sind allerdings weiterhin in einem vernünftigen Rahmen. Einzig die Akustik ist etwas suboptimal: Ist die Kneipe voll, muss man schon relativ laut sprechen, damit einen der Gegenüber noch...
