We had a great day in Freiburg yesterday, until we came to Eis Cafe Lazzarin. Our plan was to get ice cream and coffee then walk towards Marktplatz. My husband and the kids went in, then I changed my mind and decided to sit at the tables in front of the cafe. But a waiter came and said that if I wanted to sit here, I had to order from him. So I explained the situation and went inside to my husband but the other personal there said there was no problem, so we sat down again. The same waiter came again and repeated that we were not be able to sit down. so we decided not to discuss anymore and went away. Just a while ago, another waiter, to whom I handed the paper he had dropped from his pocket, did not even look at me, let alone say thank you. So if you really want to try this cafe, i would suggest you to take care of yourself, do not contact with the personal.

To top off the experience (pardon the unintentional pun), the toilets have skid marks which instantly kill your appetite if you visit the toilet before ordering.
Come for the eiscafe, stay...

They melted immediately leaving me with a warm grimy coffee and when I politely asked for more ice the waiter proceeded to make sarcastic comments for the remaining time I was in the cafe such as "cold enough for you" etc. My friend asked for tap water and when the waiter said they didn't serve tap water she said she wouldn't have anything as I was the only one wanting a drink in the first place. He then brought her out tap water so we presumed he was doing us a favour....until we saw the bill. I was charged twice for water so I presume I was also charged for the ice that went into my iced coffee. The whole thing could have been avoided if they just said they only...
