To whom it may concern,
I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant. First and foremost, I thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was delicious, and the service was both quick and friendly, which I truly appreciated. However, I did encounter an experience at the end of my visit that left a lasting negative impression.
Before paying, I was asked if everything had been to my satisfaction, and while I responded affirmatively, I also offered some honest feedback, mentioning that I found the portion of rice served with the main course to be quite small. I was hoping this would be taken as constructive criticism, but the response I received was a rather dismissive suggestion that I could simply order more rice. My comment was meant to highlight that for the price of a main dish, it’s hard to justify being charged an additional €2.50 for a portion of rice large enough to feel satisfied.
I accepted the situation and asked for the total bill. I was then quoted a price higher than what the actual amount turned out to be, which led me to leave a higher tip than I might have, as I wanted to recognize the overall good service. It was only after I had left that I realized the actual total was lower than what I had been told. This left me feeling quite disheartened, especially considering the dismissive remark earlier.
I’m writing to you because, having worked in the service industry myself for many years, I know that in today’s competitive landscape, customer orientation is key to long-term success. Experiences like this one can lead customers to think twice before returning, even when the food is excellent. While this may not have an immediate impact if business is good, such interactions can affect customer loyalty in the long run.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I hope it is taken in the constructive spirit in which it...
Read moreI was very excited to hear that there is now a Korean restaurant in Freiburg, but this hs been a huge disappointment, and it is quite upsetting that many guests believe that this restaurant serves authentic Korean food.
We ordered tteokbokki (떡볶이/spicy rice cake), yangnyeom chicken (양념치킨/korean spicy fried chicken), and kimchi jeon (김치전/kimchi pancake).
Tteokbokki: 0/5 Absolutely tasteless. I am unable to say whether the sauce tastes good or not, because there is NO taste to begin with. This is possibly the worst adaptation of tteokbokki I have ever tried abroad. I understand that the dish can be very spicy for people who are not used to the spice level, but there are several ways to improvise (e.g. increase soy sauce over chili paste ratio). Instead, the sauce was somehow milky (?) and starchy, and without taste. I would not recommend this dish.
Yangnyeom chicken: 3/5 The taste itself is not bad, and I enjoyed it the most among all the dishes I’ve ordered. However, this dish is way too sour. I would say that it tastes more like the chinese sweet & sour chicken, rather than korean spicy chicken. The korean spicy chicken typically has a strong garlic taste, sweet, spicy, and minimal sour taste. If I had this outside of a korean reastaurant, I would have not realized it is korean.
Kimchi jeon: 1/5 There were mushrooms and paprika in this dish, which simply overpowers all the other ingredients in this dish. I may have seen paprika in haemul pajeon (해물파전) before, but never in kimchi jeon. They do not go well together. The kimchi also tasted not fermented enough, which defeats the whole purpose of this dish?
I sincerely wish they would improve their recipe, because I want to have a place to go to whenever I miss Korean food. As of now, I will not be returning any time soon. However, I liked the atmosphere there, which is why I’m giving two stars...
Read morevisited a handful of times, each time spontaneously without reservation and entering name into the waiting list (always full/always a wait!) never had a issue with the waiting times for getting a table. 15/20 minutes.
Turnover happens fast because they’re very efficient. Food tasted consistently great over every visit & can highly recommend it here!
Just put 4 from 5 on service while it’s not very personable or even very “friendly” for that matter but this isn’t to be taken negatively by any means - the restaurant is very busy and the service just do their job, they aren’t their to heighten your dining experience but simply take the order, bring the order, collect payment & that’s perfectly alright too! Just for readers information this is not a sit down and take your time and enjoy place, it’s busy/kinda loud because it’s a small packed space but it’s amazing food so just go enjoy, pay and get out so the next...
