Block House — Restaurant in Hamburg

It was my first time at the Block House and definitely not the last one! I needed a cheer up after a hard day, and I have definitely not expected at all to get so much positive energy and amazing experience overall! Everything was as close to perfection as possible from start to finish: even before entering the door was opened and I was greeted by a maitre d'. I also got immediately offered to choose between several different tables. The one close to kitchen appealed me as the kitchen is open and the hustle and bustle of the place actually had its own charm! I was almost immediately, after seating and hanging my coat, greeted by a lady waitress who made sure that my first stay in the restaurant was memorable and exceeded my expectations and was obviously a seasoned professional. My small adjustment to the classic menu was taken very seriously and I have gotten several different options on what I can choose from. Tea and my salad arrived literally in less than 2 minutes after the order was taken. Not even fast food restaurants can compete with that! They have arrived not only fast but with a smile and friendliness of the same lady who took my order. The main course arrived just on time- I have just finished my salad and another extremely friendly and also professional waiter helped me to rearrange my plates for the main course. The lady waitress was there a second later, when I have just cut the Tenderloin, to ask if everything is up to my expectations and if I needed anything. The food was delectable and tea was delicious! The timing, professionalism and impeccable work of the staff, the tenderness of the tenderloin (hehe), the way how everything works as a well-oiled machine, and while there could have been the tiniest of adjustments I personally would say would have made it absolutely perfect, I must say I was beyond impressed that it was “just” a Block House! And to that, the place was densely packed- and I was always able to get a very fast service even in between meals and when asking for a chèque. I myself, many years ago, have worked in 5* hotels for almost a decade, and I know a high quality service when I see one! The service of this establishment is worthy of 5* hotel. While maybe the ambience was a bit more down-to earth, and a couple of tiny adjustments were missing to be called the highest class, it still is service that makes it 5*, and this place has more than deserved it! I usually do not leave a google map review if there are lots of them already. However, i had nice experiences here so i am adding 5 star review. I once left my camera there and few hours later i got it back, along with friendliness of the staffs and the manager(perhaps the lady in black suit was the manager i guess). And today, when i visited for dinner the waitress Maya was extremely kind. I was extremely tired because of hot weather, aching knees and hunger but her kindness lifted me up significantly that i ate more than half of the salad bowl! I eat lots of salads only when i am in very good mood. And another staff was kind too :) And of course, i would not have left a positive review if i was not satisfied with food. I liked the meals overall and price was pretty nice, compared to other restauranrs in Hamburg. I really need lots of protein intake because of some health issues and this restaurant was a nice and affordable daily protein...

The starter salad is fresh and tasty, however the steak and even the kids menu are quite disappointing. Ordered a local German ribeye and an Argentina T-Bone, the quality of meat reminds me the tasty of the low priced beef from the supermarket. The T-Bone was overcooked( asked for medium but got almost well done) at the first, fortunately the waiter was very nice and had the kitchen made another serve for me—-but the taste of meat didn’t change that much. It simply doesn’t have the rich taste that the meat at this price level should have. The pasta bolognese from the kids menu was purely pasta with tomato source.....
