My daughter wanted iskender kebap and in contrast to the other Turkish restaurants and fastfood places nearby, Gaziantep actually use real pide as the base of this dish. But iskender kebap is a very simple dish consisting of pide bread cut into small pieces topped with döner meat, tomato sauce and yoghurt so these basic ingredients have to be of good quality. Unfortunately the tomato sauce was not good so the iskender kebap ended up so-so. Not recommended. The doner was delicious but it’s a shame that all of that is washed away with the terrible customer service. We saw about three people get their food before ours despite being there first. They finally brought our food only to forget our fries and salad. We kept asking them and they’d brush us off. Until I asked one more time and they finally brought it, at that point we just wanted to get out of there. It seems these sort of places only respect you if you speak Turkish to them.
