Mahajivan is a fantastic Indian restaurant located in Hamburg. It boasts a menu filled with delicious and authentic dishes, and the chicken vindaloo I had there was no exception. It was extremely hot, just as I like it, and the flavors were truly outstanding. The basmati rice, cheese naan, and coriander chutney were also top-notch and made for a superb dinner experience.
Based on popular opinion, Mahajivan is considered one of the best Indian restaurants in Hamburg. The food is of the highest quality and the service is excellent. However, there are a few caveats to keep in mind. Firstly, the restaurant is located in an area that some may consider rather shady. Secondly, it is one of the most expensive Indian restaurants in the city.
Another thing to keep in mind is the seating, many of the places here are high chairs, some are actually stools. If you are uncomfortable with that kind of arrangement let them know in advance or look for other arrangements. I took a photo of the chairs to better clarify.
In conclusion, if you're looking for an exceptional Indian dining experience in Hamburg and don't mind paying a bit more for it, I highly recommend visiting Mahajivan. The food and service are top-notch and you won't be...
Read moreNice Indian Food at Reeperbahn!! We visited Mahajivan on weekday. There was enough space but enough crowd as well. The ambience is nice and cozy. The hospitality is great and staff is very polite. The service is quick and good. We ordered long Island ice tea and another cocktails. The LIIT was up to the mark but the other lacked a bit of alcohol i felt. For food, we ordered spring rolls which were ok but the chicken hariyali kebab were awesome. The chicken was tender and juicy along with nice flavours. We also ordered palak paneer and lamb rogan josh. Both the dishes were extremely delicious and were good in quantity. In short, I would visit this place again when...
Read moreHighly recommended! The food is really tasty. I had Chicken Madrasi with garlic naan and rice, everything was just as it should be. We requested to adjust the spice level to ‘medium’ which is just enough spicy for the average Indian. Chicken Madrasi was the best I have had in a while, with a hint of mint and coriander in the curry. The garlic naan was soft and a bit crispy with the right flavour. Even the rice seemed to have been prepared devotedly and was delicious. The staff is also very friendly. The only thing that disappointed me was the portion. I am not used to having such small portion in Europe. The quantity of rice was not enough...
