OT Restaurant Hamburg — Restaurant in Hamburg

This place opened fairly recently and there's still lots of room for improvement. When we entered the restaurant we had to wait for at least 3 minutes for someone to even show up to ask us for our names and reservations, inspite of the fact that there were surprisingly many employees running around and doing various other things.

Afterwards we were shown to our table they took our orders a few minutes later. The drinks arrived quickly, the food didn't, we had to wait for around 30 minutes for that.

We ordered Pad Krapao Nua (which the waiter didn't know, I had to specifically ask for Thai Basil stir fry) and Pad See Ew.

It wasn't bad, but taste-wise it's far far away from what you'd get in Bangkok, and considering that's their whole theme it was disappointing.

The Pad Krapao tasted like beef bouillon and had mint in addition to the Krapao in it, and the Pad See Ew wasn't pan fried at all as far as I could tell, and had parsley instead of coriander.

We went to OT Restaurant last night. The place looks great — very trendy and the vibe is nice. The service was friendly too, no complaints there.

But the food just didn’t deliver. My dish was overcooked, and the other one at our table was kind of watery and bland. Nothing really stood out flavor-wise, and the portions felt a bit underwhelming.

It feels more like a spot that’s about the look and the scene than actually good food. There are way better Thai places in Hamburg if you're going for taste.

Leider ein sehr enttäuschendes Erlebnis. Intransparente Abrechnung: Es werden automatisch 10 % als Trinkgeld berechnet, ohne dass man vorher darauf hingewiesen wird. Das ist nicht transparent und man gibt dann meist zusätzlich noch Trinkgeld, weil man davon ausgeht, dass es freiwillig ist. Ich habe kein Problem damit, Trinkgeld zu geben aber die Art, wie es hier einfach festgelegt wird, ist nicht üblich und nicht transparent. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt nicht: Ein alkoholfreies Getränk kostet 9 €, ist aber sehr klein bemessen. Für den Preis hätte ich deutlich mehr erwartet – weder Menge noch Qualität rechtfertigen diesen Betrag. Unfreundlicher Service: Auf Nachfrage oder bei Problemen reagiert das Personal sehr unfreundlich. Ein Beispiel: ich war mit Geschäftspartnern aus dem Ausland vor Ort. Da mein Gast kein Deutsch spricht und das Personal kein Englisch, musste ich die Bestellung für sie aufgeben. Durch die laute Musik kam es zu einer missverständlichen Bestellung für meinen Gast, dass sich wenige Minuten später heraus stellte. Obwohl das Getränk noch nicht zubereitet war, wurde ein Austausch strikt abgelehnt. In den meisten Restaurants ist man hier deutlich kundenorientierter – gerade in einem Umfeld, in dem man Gäste empfängt. Das macht die Situation unangenehmer.
