Pizza Bande — Restaurant in Hamburg

On one hand I don’t want to write this review as well as share this place. I simply want to hide it and keep for myself! I have Pizza Banda by total accident. I was on my way back and browsing for some place to eat and the place was highly rated in the area. When were there some personnel asked my for password and was blocking the way. I did not found it funny that day, but probably that some sort of north german humor. On my first visit I’ve tried pizza with potatoes. Yes, thats at least WEARD to put potatoes in pizza. But you know what? That was amazing! Since then I do not look on pizza the same as i were before. The people who run it are outstanding. One simply feel the positive energy here and that people who run this place really love it. Music and general vibe are great. But pizza... Mmm, it worth coming to Hamburg only for that pizza! Main menu usually consist of four positions. Generally at least two of them are vegan. (I am not vegan myself, but I do highly recommend to try those types of pizza here). I did not realize how often they update those menu, but probably once per month/week. One may also build his own pizza based on variety of ingredients. Waiting time is low. Never was sitting here hungry longer than ten minutes. Could be quite crowded on weekends, but usually one could the table. Once in Hamburg please go and visit this place. My friend from Hamburg took me to this little gem just 100 metres off the reeperbahn. Every pizza is freshly cooked (unlike the pizzas they sell on the reeperbahn), the menu has long list of toppings. You pay a set price for pizza base and then you pay extra for each topping of your choice. I could not believe the size of the pizza when it arrived at my table, and the amount of toppings that was on the pizza. The pizza base is thin and crispy, but it was delicious. The service was very good. There is a extensive drinks list. Great tunes are played over the speakers at a nice volume so you're able to talk to folk on your table. Do yourself a favour and visit it if you're in the reeperbahn area and fancy pizza, you won't regret it, especially when you see all the cold pizzas sitting waiting to get get reheated in the microwave on the reeperbahn...

Hatte leider eine sehr unangenehme Erfahrung hier letztes Jahr. Eine Freundin und ich wollten was essen, haben den Laden spontan gefunden und sind rein.

Digitale Impfausweise wurden gecheckt und für ungültig erklärt (es war 2G zu dem Zeitpunkt, stand auch so vorne auf der Tafel am Laden, wir sind beide 2x geimpft seit Juni/August). Angeblich zählt unser Status nicht mehr, Impfung wäre angeblich nicht mehr gültig und außerdem herrscht bei denen 2G+. Ziemlich offensichtlich waren unsere Impfungen nicht abgelaufen und es gab eine Diskussion zwischen dem einen Typen, der uns kontrolliert hatte und den anderen zwei Mitarbeiter*innen, die auch meinten, dass das Schwachsinn ist, dass das abgelaufen ist (die eine hat sogar noch gesagt, dass ihre Impfung noch länger her ist als die meiner Freundin lmao). Der Typ hat die beiden total angepampt, von wegen, dass er 2G+ früher macht und blabla. Na ja.

Ich hatte zufällig einen tagesaktuellen Test, meine Freundin aber nicht. Er hat ihr dann gesagt, wo sie einen holen kann (angeblich umme Ecke), damit wir beide dort doch essen können. Sie also los, ich im Laden gewartet. Habe dann meine Bestellung irgendwann aufgegeben, als er mich gefragt hat. Nach 10 mins habe ich dann nochmal gefragt, weil die Situation irgendwie total awkward war und ich dumm rumstand, ob ich mich setzen kann etc und daraufhin kam von ihm "ja, aber deine Freundin kann hier nicht essen" srsly? Sie ist extra los, um sich einen Test zu holen und plötzlich zählt nicht mal 2G+? 😂

Pizza war leider schon im Ofen, ich musste die dann mitnehmen und draußen bei ner Eiseskälte auf dem Boden essen. Meine Freundin war draußen noch am Rumirren, an besagter Stelle war gar keine Teststation und auch sonst nirgendwo in der Nähe. Wir haben uns eigentlich extra ein Restaurant gesucht, damit wir eben nicht draußen hocken müssen, weil es wirklich arschkalt an dem Tag war und dann das. Hätte er von Anfang an gesagt jo geht nicht, ok, dann hätten wir woanders gegessen und fertig ist. Aber das war wirklich einfach nur ein... uncooler... move. Die Reaktionen der anderen Mitarbeiter*innen haben auch gezeigt, dass das alles ziemlich unberechtigt und willkürlich war. Vor allem ist das alles auch in nem total passiv-aggressiven und unfreundlichen Ton geschehen, obwohl wir durchgängig freundlich und ruhig waren.

Pluspunkte: Linker Laden, die anderen beiden Mitarbeitenden waren sehr nett und die Pizza war lecker, zumindest die ersten zwei Minuten als sie noch lauwarm war bei...
