Salotto 1828 — Restaurant in Kassel

We had to wait a long time for one of the dishes, and by the time it arrived, everyone else at the table had already finished eating. When we asked about it, they told us they had run out of one of the ingredients and asked if it was okay to serve it without it. Even then, it took another 40 minutes for the dish to arrive. At that point, I had already asked for it to go, and they handed it to me in a pizza box with no utensils or anything. In the end, we waited over an hour just for an omelette.

On top of that, I had ordered a brownie but was given a cheesecake instead. When I asked about it, they insisted that was what I had ordered, which was clearly not the case.

Very slow service, and it’s clear they don’t care about...

I'm currently moving to Kassel from Berlin and to be honest I wasn't particularly thrilled about it. I really enjoy good food snd coffee, and especially breakfast/brunch, and I was afraid Kassel wasn't gonna have anything to offer me in that sense. So when I found this place, and upon having my first sip of their cappuccino, I almost teared up! (I'm not even kidding!) Great cafe!

I loved the design, so green and very calming rich colors, accompanied by soothing music - it’s a nice spot.

Staff were friendly, the food was also good. Berry tarte and coffee were excellent, as well as the berry lemonade. The bruschettas took quite a while, but staff explained it with some kitchen issues.

I loved the self service order display at the tables so you can choose in peace and ask for help if needed. I also loved the display of cakes and sweets - makes the choice so fun!
