We chose to sit at a table, and before doing so, I asked a staff member if we could sit there, and he said yes. But just as we were about to sit down, another staff member came over and placed a "Reserved" sign on the table without saying a word. It felt very rude, as he didn’t even apologize .We moved to another table and stayed for two hours — and that original table remained empty the entire time! No one ever came to use it!!!!!

I’d like to clarify a few things from my perspective as a customer. I believe I have the right to choose a table where I feel comfortable and can enjoy my time — especially after asking a staff member for permission and being told it's okay to sit there. What felt wrong was not that the table was reserved, but the way the situation was handled. Without any explanation or apology, another staff member came and silently placed a "Reserved" sign on the table we were about to sit at. That felt quite disrespectful and unprofessional.

I truly hope this feedback is taken in the spirit of improvement. A little more communication and kindness can go a long way in making guests...

Kassel. Auswärts frühstücken liegt im Trend: Inzwischen bieten fast 100 Kasseler Cafés ein Frühstücksangebot an. In einer Serie testen wir die Cafés: Diesmal das Stadt Café.

Erst frühstücken, dann in der Innenstadt shoppen gehen – wer das machen möchte, dem sei das Stadtcafé an der Treppenstraße empfohlen. Auch jetzt zur documenta, die viele Standorte in der Innenstadt hat, ist das Café von der Lage her fast unschlagbar. Ambiente Innen ist es gemütlich. Man kann an kleinen Tischen sitzen, einen Platz auf Barhockern einnehmen oder sich auf dem Podest in einem der Sofas niederlassen. Besonders zu empfehlen ist das Café allerdings im Sommer, weil es draußen viele Plätze gibt, von denen aus man das Treiben der Innenstadt beobachten kann. Die Tische sind allerdings innen wie außen eher klein. Auswahl Die Karte im Stadtcafé umfasst acht Frühstücksvariationen – von süß über herzhaft bis hin zum üppigen Frühstück für zwei ist alles dabei. Man kann auch noch Ergänzungen wie Rührei, Müsli, Brötchen und Aufstriche dazubestellen. Ein Hingucker ist die Kaffeekarte: Es gibt verschiedene Variationen, zum Beispiel einen Milchkaffee mit Kakao. Sie sind fast immer mit besonderer Kaffeekunst verziert. Preis-Leistung Die Preise entsprechen dem Durchschnitt: Das kleinste Frühstück (das Französische) kostet 3,40 Euro, das Stadtcafé-Frühstück für zwei kostet 18,90 Euro. Die Getränke zahlt man extra und sind eher teuer – die gute Lage schlägt hier sicherlich mit zu Buche. Das körnige Frühstück mit einem Mehrkornbrötchen, Butter, Kräuterquark, Ei und einem kleinen Müsli kostet 4,80 Euro und wird mit frischem Obst und Gemüse dekoriert.

Service Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, Sonderwünsche wurden erfüllt. Die Getränke wurden schnell an den Tisch gebracht. Das Frühstück hat etwas länger gedauert – an Tagen mit vielen Gästen sollte man etwas Zeit mitbringen. Wer in den Sommermonaten vorbeikommt, braucht nicht zwingend zu reservieren, weil es innen und außen sehr viele Plätze gibt. In den kälteren Monaten sollte man reservieren, gerade mit einer...

This café right in the city center has great options for anyone and knows what veganism is and does an amazing job at making vegans feel included. From several plant milk options for coffee (soy, oat, almond), to vegan waffles with ice cream and whipped cream to savory Flammkuchen, they have it all - making it perfect to go there for anyone 🧇 They also have changing vegan cakes and pies (3 when I was there), seasonal dishes (such as gazpacho, bowls etc.) and more.
