I had seen a lot of positive reviews and was very excited to eat at Anyong but I have to agree with the reviews saying it’s “overrated”. I had went with my sister and we ordered wings to share, Gimbap, Odeng and had some kimchi on the side.
When ordering 12 wings, you cannot split the wings’ flavour to 6 6, so we had to order 6 wings separately. The wings had retained their crispiness till the very last one, however, the size of the wings was not great, the flats were very small and they aren’t the juiciest wings but to be honest I like my wings more on the over done side. The flavour “super spicy” was not really spicy but my spice tolerance is high, but I believe they could make that their sweet and spicy option. Soya garlic was very savoury, and there wasn’t a strong garlic taste which I would’ve enjoyed. The side of radish also was a good compliment for each bite. 7.6/10
Gimbap was very disappointing. The rice was unseasoned and the filling was even more depressing, the only things helping was the salty omelette and the fresh vegetables, but you could add other fillings, but we just had went with tofu. One of the rolls wasn't rolled the tightest and it ended up falling apart which I wished, whilst writing this review, had taken a photo. After realising it was pretty bland, the person I was dining with had asked for some salt, but received soya sauce instead, which helped. Really upsetting as the other photos I’ve seen, it was cut so beautifully and rolled so tight. Wouldn’t order again 3/10
The kimchi was overly sweet and way too much liquid to cabbage ratio and not spicy. 4/10
Odeng wasn't the greatest quality and pretty thin, tasted like frozen ones. 4.7/10
The eatery did have outside seating which was very nice compared to the inside which was very hot, but smelt great. The placement of the eatery is great, away from Marienplatz and the busy shoppers on a nice little back road with very nice shops.
Fried chicken and beer would...

I was still full from my late lunch and just simply craving for rice and soup (a typical Chinese/Singaporean) and decided to give their Kimchi Chigae (Kimchi stew) a try.
First sip... SO SALTY! But yet, so savoury... I can't stop myself from drinking more, esp the warm soup in a cool weather. And then I have my Korean rice, it's hard, really below average kind of hard, but after craving for almost 48 hrs, I finished every single grain of it. It just goes so well with the "salty" soup and tofu. It's actually just what I needed (in Munich), but can I call this a fret Korean food or soup, nah... I can't. There may be lots of Kimchi, but it just tasted different, but in a not too bad (and salty) way.
If this were to be compared with authentic ones in southeast Asia and not to mention Korea, it won't even be 3 stars... But in Munich, where I hardly see any Korean food in this area, I have to be kinder and say with ALL their shortcomings (saltiness, rice quality, taste), this is still deserving of a 4 stars. I didn't read the other reviews yet, so am finding it hard to imagine why their high score (maybe their other food, eg.wings, buklgogi, bibimbap are good). So despite it's not great, but good enough for to me come back again if I needed some hot soup. My overall rating: 7...
Read moreThe building was too hot to eat inside and the smell of incense is a little nauseating… but luckily it was cool enough outside so we ate outside. The food I would say is a good try to replicate, but definitely is not authentic. The bimbimbop bowl looked good but the bowl is supposed to be extremely hot to give the burnt crisp rice at bottom and the meat /beef was lacking flavor. It def didn’t feel Korean as the wrong types of utensils were used as the spoon and chopsticks were Chinese/vietnamese styled chopstick rather than then flat rectangular and spoons were not Korean styled long round spoons which gave addition to lack of authenticity. Anyways I was disappointed to the entire feeling as the filling also in the gimbap was lacking flavor and felt amateurish plus why is there spicy mayo with it? Weird. The Tteokbokki also was overcooked and too soft and was missing the chewiness. It’s all sauce… the ramyeon I added was overcooked and soggy…. Which added to the disappointment. I’m sure for actual Koreans, this wouldnt pass, but for non Koreans I think it does its job… but you can definitely tell this is 100 percent not Korean owned or...
