Update: Ended up giving this brunch place a one star review. French Touch used to be my go-to place to get eggs benedict. I’ve been here several times since my first visit two years ago - took different friends and colleagues here, and even had it on my list of food recommendations in Munich. On August 15, I wanted to take a friend from another city to have brunch here, telling her that it’s my favorite brunch place in Munich. We were aware that today is holiday, so we checked the opening times on Google and their Instagram. Both showed that they are open at 8:30 - and then we decided to have our brunch at 9. When we got there at 9:05, the place was still dark. There was an employee there getting the place ready and we asked him whether they are open. He told us that they’re usually open at 9. When we said that it says 8:30 on Google, he said that he wasn’t really sure either but he let us in. Just when we got into their waiting area, a lady arrived with her bike and told the employee that we should leave and told him that they are open firstly at 9:30. We then asked whether we are allowed to wait there. The lady just stared at us and the first employee had to repeat our question to her, to which she rudely answered that we are not allowed to wait. When we went out, the lady just passed us by without saving us a glance or saying sorry for the wrong opening hours that they posted on both Google and Instagram without further information that their opening hours changed today. We wouldn’t have even minded waiting outside for 30 minutes, but we were very disappointed with how we were treated. I am still very embarrassed that I recommended a place with such service to a friend and how many times I told her how much I loved this place. Edit after response: Please see the time stamp when I screenshot the Google review. It shows 9:09 and clearly stated ‘open’ and closes at 4pm. We don’t mind at all waiting outside, but please educate your employees not to be rude to customers and to talk about your customers in front of their faces like we weren’t even there. Thanks 😊 First review: One of the best brunch places in Munich. We loved their eggs benedict and their golden iced latte. Their pastries were also very tasty. However, the second time we went there the salad of the eggs benedict didn't have dressing and also the eggs were a little overcooked. It was still an enjoyable meal and we would love to come back soon.

We visited FTP on a sunny September morning after reading a lot of reviews and the place didn’t disappoint! Food-4/5 Had the best Pistachio croissant 🥐 Light fluffy and oozing pistachio cream along with an Iced Americano-5/5 totally recommend Avocado toast with smoked salmon and Eggs Benedict were quite delicious- 5/5 But the desserts, chocolate eclairs, one lemon coconut dessert and coffee dessert were not up to the mark.the cream was not light and fluffy as you would expect and the flavours were not quite right-3/5 Ambeince- Pleasant and welcoming. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating. It was quite warm in side but if you can find a place outside,it’s quite nice. They don’t take reservations, you can just walk-in 4/5 Service-The girls serving are quite sweet and helpful and your order arrives pretty quickly.Bit I wish they knew their menu a bit better. Also if you speak English a lot gets lost in translation 4/5 Overall experience-A bit pricey,we paid approx.60€ for 2 including beverages.

Food-wise I don't have anything specific to complain about. I absolutely love the croissants (try the Haselnuss!); the pistachio one is also insane. And they truly won me over with the Eggs Benedict Royal. I haven’t really explored the rest of the menu beyond those favorites. It’s not the cheapest place around, but compared to similar spots, it’s still reasonable. That said, weekends can be tricky. It gets quite crowded, and sometimes you’ll need to wait a bit for a table. The staff (very lovely girls!) can get overwhelmed, so things occasionally get a little chaotic—expect some delays in taking or bringing your order. And if you end up sitting indoors, it can get a bit loud, and the smell from the kitchen tends to linger... Not a dealbreaker, but it does bother me a little. Hence the four stars :)

Used to have a breakfast or croissant there when visiting Munich, but will never come back again. The service has never been good there, you should wait at the entrance to be seated, which is fine, however, the staff is never in a rush and there are normally few tables available that are not cleaned for a long time. Last time, I waited for 10-15 min in the same circumstances. Despite that I was first in a queue which became quite long by that time, 4 people behind me just went to the nearest free table on their own before being picked up by a waiter. As they explained to me, it always works this way in this place. In a couple of minutes, a waiter brought them a menu and cleaned their table, while I was still waiting to be seated. Well, I followed the same way, went in and took the smallest table available. After another couple of minutes waiting, I asked a waiter to bring the menu. Instead, the waiter asked me in a rude manner why I am I not waiting at the entrance. I explained the situation, also pointing out that people behind me got seated on their own, and have already ordered. He told me "Have you seen what is written at the entrance [i.e. wait to be seated]?" and twice "Do you work here?". This is ridiculous and absolutely unacceptable, I do not recommend...

The desserts looked amazing, but unfortunately our family is not worthy of service :(

This place tries so hard to be exclusive and fancy. When you walk in, there is a sign requesting you “wait to be seated”… ok fair enough, sounds like they are going to role out the red carpet and provide you with royal service… not exactly.

Our family walked in to a massive puddle of water. I’m not sure if their fridge was leaking, but there was a thick layer of water on our way to our table. My 2 year old wanted to play in it 🙄

We were ready to order right away…but nobody came. Hmmm 🤔 were we doing something wrong? Was this place actually self service? They didn’t mention anything when we were “seated” and that would seem odd. Other people were being served. In fact, they tried to bring us food that we didn’t order, and we politely told them we were still waiting to order - no reaction from the waitress.

We waited a good 30 minutes. It was enough time for all of us to use the bathroom - nice bathroom by the way! Sorry you only get 1 star for the bathroom.

Thanks and good luck with your super exclusive cafe! We’ll come back when we’re worthy of...
