The short review: great place and great food, but a bit pricey, especially if you intend to try many things (the portions of some menu items are quite small). You should be relatively flexible and okay with paying in the area of 100 Euros per person to enjoy the food properly.

The more detailed review:

The interior is great and the treatment from the staff is nice. They are kind, attentive, and will address your food needs accordingly. Note that they speak almost only English, so if this is a problem for you, keep it in mind.

Personally I appreciate modernist cuisine. I must emphasize that it isn’t for everyone. If you want to try food that will entice your palette and give you, in terms of portions, mouthfuls of complexity at a time, this is the place for you. If you value portion size over complexity and don’t care much for a dish having double digit components, then this place would not satisfy you and you would be better off spending much less money for much more food elsewhere.

That being said here is my review specific to each item we (2 persons) ordered:

Hamachi carpaccio: The highlight of this dish is the transition of flavors. The first thing you taste is the truffle wish lingers for a few seconds before being replaced with a strong citrus flavor. I would have personally enjoyed slightly more truffle flavor/slightly less citrus. The flavor of truffle just dissipates a bit too quickly. 8/10

Ebi Nigiri: it comes seasoned. 10/10.

Spicy tuna inside out: The flavor is nice, but texturally the minced tuna meat instead of a whole piece is a miss for me. 7/10

Salmon avocado maki: beautiful. Simple and well-executed, the wasabi comes through nicely without being overpowering. 8/10

Crispy ebi maki: wonderful. The cook on the shrimps was perfect. 8.5/10

Crispy baby calamari: Order this. The aioli is the star in terms of flavor. The cook on the calamari was spot on. Not chewy at all, not raw either, just absolutely nailed it. 9/10

Grilled lamb chops with Aubergine tofu dip: Star of the night. The most tender lamb chop ever and the dip will have you wanting to lick the plate clean. If you don’t like red meat obviously avoid this but if you do, you cannot miss this dish. 12/10. Perfect.

Chocolate surprise: The theatrics of it are nice. It makes you giddy. That being said, it was too overpowering. The fresh fruit and ice cream helped but there wasn’t enough of it on the plate to counter the heaviness of the chocolate. If you’re a fan of extreme chocolate flavors (think triple chocolate fudge cakes, chocolate brownies with chocolate sauce) then by all means this is for you. If you prefer more balanced desserts that don’t overpower you in terms of sweetness and don’t like excessive chocolate flavor, I would advise you to avoid this. 5/10 (highly...

Hi, Nathan. I don’t know what else to write here so I’m just gonna skip to the review. Also if you’re coming here ask for Nathan to be your waiter. He’s on another level of cool. Anyway, first up I think I had the rock shrimp. Then I got the sashimi which was really good. Like, really really good. It’s gonna send your tongue to heaven. Then came the crispy calamari. And when I say crispy I mean 🥓 level crispy. And it was a blessing. There’s also more things I got but the staff are really worried about what I will say and I don’t want to stress them out. Now comes the main course! Yeah!!! 🙌 For the main course, I ate 12 pieces of sushi. It was on 👏 a 👏 ‘nother 👏 level. And I also ate more of that rock shrimp. Never gets old. It’s literally like KFC’s chicken popcorn but way better and way healthier. Also I tried some crispy pork belly. Or shall I say, crispy pro belly. Because if you’re good at reviewing dishes you know that this is one of the highlights. Is this meat or cake? Cause I can’t tell. Also I got a free drink! (not that you’ll also get one or anything…) Yay!!!!!!!!!! Coconut drink btw. Really good. And next is the dessert. I tried some of the ice cream and absolutely devoured my chocolate dessert. I am in love with this place. If it was in Antarctica, I know for a fact the people studying the environment there would always go to this restaurant. Somehow these geniuses combined good looks, friendliness and great food all into one place and made it into a whole restaurant. Robin

edit: why does this have so...

Well. What to say. A very new stylish hotel and restaurant in the heart of Munich. Definitely thumbs up. Yet you can have the best place and food in the world if the service doesnt live up for it. And that didnt happen when I was there. Everything started of nicely. We were asked for our coats and brought to a table and then service began. But ever since the food came out, there was no real attention. Were we done? Hello. Anyone there? We tried to catch the attention of somebody but waiters would rather talk amobgst each other or did other things. We even had to walk up to them to pay and it was not even offered that we could do it at the table. The thing that serioulsy upset me was the leaving. It is a long walk through the restaurant so it was clear we did. Nobody came and helped us with the coats, we then did it ourselves. And when somebody came and saw that we were still on it, there was no offering for help or a sorry, i was to late. Anything. And to top it. Not even a a goodbye. Really? Is this hospitality 2.0 nope. I dont think so. It is not that wtdjust had a coffee or anytning and even then. You dont treat you customers like that. Really disappointing. The food wasfreally good. But as I said it is not everytfing.... Will...

We were staying at the hotel and were recommended to come in. Loud, raucous, smoke filled terrace on a Monday night. Large tables filled with smoking, laughing, drinking people. It's sushi in munich and the impression that I got is that sushi is new here. At one point we were asked "oh have you had sake before?", which seemed like a veiled insult. High prices for something that most midwestern strip malls do better for 10% of the price, but you might be buying the location and presentation. Very impressive presentation, every dish carefully matched to its own little stage, with the tuna over a cloud of vaporizing dry ice or the sake in a crystal decanter. They suggested to follow their path of "cold, sushi, tasty, hot" but somewhere along the way between sushi and hot they decided to stop serving our table and we watched the tables that arrived after us continue this little journey for an hour while ours was empty. The steak eventually came and that was fine. 3 hours, 300+ euros for a 2 top. It's an experience I guess.
