yesterday (10.01.2024) this employee, who said she was the manager of the place, humiliated me in front of my friends and other customers, saying that I couldn't sit at the table with my friends if I wasn't going to consume. In her words, "This isn't a public library, if you're not going to consume something you can't stay!". At first I thought it was a bad joke, but she was insistent and very rude, and when I realised the situation I started to argue back because the whole situation was completely absurd! At the end of it all, she escorted me out saying that she would make sure I never went back to that place again.
Just imagine a person who is feeling unwell, but in the company of friends in the pub, being thrown out by the manager because they didn't want to consume anything. And yet in my case, I always take people to eat and drink at Kilians, I'm a regular client myself, and yesterday I was put in a position where I had to leave my friends who came to the bar on my recommendation, just because I didn't feel like I wanted to consume something.
I was a regular customer, always taking friends to eat and get to know the place, always taking the tourists I work with to eat and get to know the place. It is unacceptable for customers to be treated in such a disrespectful and abusive way. Service is a fundamental part of any establishment. When people are treated well, they come back and advertise for free so that other people get to know and frequent the place.
I sincerely hope that Kilians thinks again when hiring its employees because they represent this establishment and behaviour like that of this employee cannot...
Read moreWe found this location as one of the few online that had Sky Sports ⚽️ When you go downstairs there is an Australian themed bar and an Irish themed bar and to be fair, you sort of get the atmosphere from the different rooms. We spent our time in Killians, we did not eat so can't comment too much on the food apart from it appeared fresh and very popular! Pitchers of beer were €13.50-€18.00 depending on which one you went for and is 1.5L. The staff were very busy, very polite and attentive and never wanted to see us with an empty table!
I feel I should comment on the Security, my group of 4 were non-German and were treated with the same respect as anyone else present. Very polite 😊
A band came in at 2100h. They were good, from what we could hear towards the back of the pub near to the entrance!
Tables were busy and a lot reserved in advance, I don't know if they're usually like this or because of Oktoberfest, but a nice little spot nonetheless 😄
An massive issue was the male toilets, there are two urinals, 2 stalls. 1 urinal was overflowing into a black bag on the floor which meant the floor of the toilet and hallway were outside were just covered in urine. Did not appear anyone was cleaning it or trying to prevent it from being used. This meant queues were long for the...
Read moreSome of the waiter/waitress are rude here, and other refuse to help when someone has already attended your table. I wouldn’t complain if the person who attended your table is free for you when you need them but it gets difficult when they are not around. Imagine thirsty / hungry yet you need to wait for that person to come back.
When it gets crowded it’s more difficult to place your orders due to the crowd noise level or band playing / best to point the menu (if it’s still bright) or be sure to double check if they got it right. My waiter didn’t get it right and he made a fuss even if we said the right orders.
Other than that the food was alright, drinks was alright too. Not sure why the Guinness stout was more bitter than it normally is from the barrel.
If you’re looking to impress a date a wouldn’t recommend this place. If you’re just there to watch a football match it’s still okay. Hope they polish up the service the place is big and great for groups of people.
live band (not sure which nights) quiz nights (not sure which nights) good for a big crowd if you don’t...
