Quite possibly the best bar in Munich. The bar is very small and does get busy on a weekend. There is limited seating outside as other bars have taken the space. Sitting inside is a good way to meet locals and other tourists. There was a very good music selection being played which we enjoyed. Local beer is €4.5 so it's competitive price and goes down easily. On our last visit the bar lady demanded a tip. This was very confusing as we did not believe it to be customary. We gave her €5 on a €40 bill. She didn't seem very overwhelmed with that. There may have been a breakdown in communication and we may have confused what she was asking but I don't believe so. On our first visit we did in fact leave a €5 tip as the lad was very friendly and we enjoyed our visit. We had not previously been asked for a tip and only ever sat at the bar so service was limited. This interaction really did spoil our final visit to LeClou which was a real shame.

If I could give 0, I would definitely give. On their website, they allow making a reservation but when I've arrived there they pretend that they have no idea about the reservation and the woman was super rude. And the point that we were an international people group and it was super disappointing. I won't recommend this place to anyone, you can be sure that your international friend will have a bad Munich experience.

Tausendmal vorbeigelaufen und auch wenn es nicht mein Typus Kneipe ist, den ich bevorzuge, jetzt doch mal ausprobiert auf ein Bier. Irgendwie muss es ja eine Institution sein, so lange wie sich das schummerige Teil hält. Vielleicht hatte ich Pech, aber das Publikum ist schon etwas speziell. Vorne direkt am Eingang spielt man Automatenspiele und steht jedem im Weg, der rein will, am Tresen sitzt eine ältere Frau, die mich auf mein Bier wartend zwei Minuten ohne Pause anstarrt, als käme ich direkt vom Mars, draußen brüllt eine angetrunkene Dame den durchfahrenden Lieferando-Radfahrer zusammen und diskutiert daraufhin lautstark im Stile "sowas gab´s früher nicht" mit ihrem Kumpels die aus ihre Sicht immer schlechter werdende Welt, wobei "die Grünen haben Schuld" nicht fehlt. Man wendet sich schmunzelnd ab, ist nicht ganz überrascht über die Erfahrung hier auf Menschen zu treffen, die in ihrem Leben an einer Stelle gestrandet sind, wo sie nicht hin wollten, und hofft doch, dass sie nicht die Regel sind. Zweitversuch folgt auf jeden Fall.

Tried to go to this bar last night. My son and I took one step in and the bartender came running out from behind the bar to tell us they were closing. It was 11:00 and the sign said they were open until 3. She took one look at us with such disdain that we instantly felt unwelcome. We seriously took one step in and turned around and left. We then heard them slamming the door behind us.I have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. I wanted to take my son to Munich to show him where his great grandparents were from and this was the welcome we get? Great acceptance, tolerance and inclusiveness…. Haha… NOT!
