During my stay in Munich the weather was windy, rainy and cold. I listened to my body and mind and the answer was clear. I need a hot soup and while searching on google maps I came across this place: Vietsoup - vietnamese street food.
After following google maps guidance I reached this place and for my luck, there was one single table available and I took it.
I loved the enterior decoration, the setup of the table, even the chairs were different than you would find in many restaurants.
It was not a difficult choice for my order. A pho with chicken, spring onion and coriander and as main course a plate of noodles with fried chicken. Delicious! I tell you, it is always a highlight to enjoy this vietnamese taste.
The staff was fast, to my taste a bit too fast but of course, in a restaurant where so many customers come in during lunch time, I understand when the staff is very fast and serving everyone so that people eat and new customers can come in.
So, long story short, if you are in Munich, near Marienplatz and you feel hungry and fancy for asian food, do not search long for a different place. Come to Vietsoup and you...
Read moreThe last night in Munich, we decided to find a Vietnamese Restaurant to try and we found this one on Yelp. It's quite a distance from our hotel to here, but we got to see many different shops along the way. This place is close to the outside farmers market like in Munich where many restaurants open in the day time. The place is small and very crowded, we had to wait for 20-30 minutes to get a table for 4. It's the first come first serve basis, no reservations that we know of. The tables are quite close to each others and the service is quite fast and attentive. The food was actually good. We all liked the appetizer the bo tai chanh (VN carpaccio like beef) and the chicken skewer with peanut sauce. I had the duck with sauce which was quite delicious, my wife had the beef with veggies that was quite tasty. My daughter ordered the bun bo hue which was a mistake, it didn't taste anything like VN bun bo hue any where. I think it's made for the local Germans tastes. Anyhow, it's a nice restaurant with nice decoration and the food is good and the prices are reasonable. We're glad we found this...
Read moreSurprisingly tasty at an affordable price. The place is unassuming but as soon as you go through the door you find yourself in a small place with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Wait time was short, as I was surprised to have my food waiting for me after washing my hands. I had the Mỳ Vịt quay Suppe (number 37) with a homemade lemonade. As soon as I tried the duck I raised my eyebrows to see all my expectations surpassed in one bite. I've had Vietnamese food before, tasty at that, but this was something else. Crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside - the meat was cooked perfectly. The selection of vegetables and the tasty soup made my stomach feel comfortable and quite happy throughout the whole meal. The lemonade was pretty tasty as well. To top it all off I had a Vietnamese coffee for the first time. For me it was a sort of dessert with coffee in it because it was so sweet and a wonderful experience at that. Have a chat while the coffee is brewing on the table and finish your meal with a tasty treat....
