After a few minutes on Google we decided to come here to try the Nuremberg bratwurst. We came just after Christmas so it was quite cold. The outer area wasn't set up and there was a line out the door. Turns out there are two lines, eat in or takeaway. We opted for eating in and had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table. Inside it was really interesting. The kitchen was in the middle of the restaurant with tables and chairs all around it. You could smell the grilled food outside as well as in and the open kitchen added to the atmosphere. It was packed. We shared a table in the corner with a couple who were already eating. They had menus in different languages and we had one in English. The menu is fairly simple, the number of Neuremberg Bratwurst you wanted (they also had other items like other types of sausages and pork knuckle) and sides. They put a bread basket on the table if you wanted extra bread. They also had condiments like mustard on the table. The sausage was delicious and surprisingly the potato salad was also really nice. It was nice having the sausage alone with the potato salad or with bread. it was delicious no matter how you had it. It was a really cheap and tasty meal (8.50 euros for 6) and really delicious. It's worth a visit but just be prepared for a line.

Nestled amidst the ancient edifices of Nuremberg, the Bratwursthäusle bei St. Sebald stands as a culinary time capsule. With a history that spans over centuries, this establishment offers more than just a meal; it presents an authentic slice of Franconian culture. Stepping through its doors transports one into an inviting space where the medieval rubs shoulders with the modern, all steeped in a rustic, Teutonic charm. A first glance at the menu immediately calls for a sip of the local beer—an obligatory delight that, being German, does not disappoint but enhances the dining experience. Heeding the advice of a congenial local at the adjacent table, we opted for sausages simmered in wine and onion—a traditional dish of the locale. Accompanied by a hearty potato salad, the dish was an evocative taste of the region. Although, I must confess, our personal predilection leans towards sausages prepared over an open flame, this was by no means a regrettable venture. Do make a point to indulge in the mustard; it’s a tangy revelation. On a scale of 1 to 5, the Bratwursthäusle bei St. Sebald rightly earns a 4. While not without room for improvement, it is a must-visit for anyone keen on a Germanic culinary journey that satiates both the stomach and the historical imagination.

The good: The place is located on downtown really in the heart of Nürnberg. The restaurant has a really charming look because it has remain with its old traditional building surrounded by higher buildings. The place has also a really chill bier garden. They have sausages and sauerkraut from a local butcher, both things are really nice, I can give them credit to that though because the ose are not made by the restaurant. Their potato salad was also ok, nothing spectacular but ok. Their beer is good, but honestly, beer is this amount of food in all the German restaurants in Bavaria. The not so good: I appreciate small menus, means that the restaurant knows its forte but this was not the case there. Their Schäufele (pork shoulder) was not cooked properly and the fat crust was not completely melted, which is a main factor in this dish, the Klösse (potato ball), was a bit too hard but ok. The sauce was honestly the worse part because it was watery and with a powder sauce flavor, which is really not acceptable because of their specialized menu which have just a couple of dishes due to the fact that is one of the o la maybe 5 dishes. The dishes took forever in arriving, even with the small menu. The service was not attentive, some of them even just simply ignored us or talk to us in a quite rude way. Also something that could improve is that they dispatch orders of sausages in bread inside the restaurant which is really small inside, so it becomes really chaotic depending were you are sitting, I don’t understand why to do it that way if they have a big beer garden.

After half the day touring around Nuremberg, my family and I decided to join the mass of people enjoying beer and food at this local restaurant. Because we were a party of seven I doubted they would have space. Luckily they had one large table left. However we were not told that we would have to rush to eat due to a reservation later that hour. All we wanted was to relax, reflect on our day and enjoy the local food and beer. The beer was exceptional! Very fresh and delicious. The food was ok. The famous sausages for us were so so. The pork shoulder is what we all enjoyed best. The service was horrible! Our waiter came for our drink order and then asked if we were ordering any food. At the time we were thinking about it. He was not happy with that response. I noticed that with his other tables he was more pleasant and did not ask about food. Most tables in fact were there for the beers only. When we did decided to order food he pushed us to order more by saying, “Only one!” With a smirk on his face. Then after my husband ordered a second beer he was told he’d only have 15min because a reservation was coming. Needless to say, we can only give this place a one star, and NEVER return here again. PS we live here in Germany we are not tourist to the country. Only visitors to this city. We were very disappointed.

Bratwursthäusle in Nuremberg is a traditional bratwurst restaurant. The bratwursts look delicious, the portions are regular-sized, and the beer is good. The menu doesn't have anything for vegans, but there is bread with cheese available for vegetarians and a potato soup. I found the service a bit mediocre, especially with seating arrangements. We were assigned a good table initially but were later moved by another waitress to a different spot. The restaurant is also not suitable for people with disabilities as it requires climbing at least one flight of stairs. Nonetheless, it was a nice experience. The flavorful bratwursts and good beer made up for it, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and traditional. If you have no special dietary preferences and don't mind stairs, Bratwursthäusle is definitely worth a visit to enjoy authentic German bratwurst and a pleasant ambiance.

Traditionally authentic German style food! We had our dinner here for two straight nights, with sausages in different cooking styles, tasting just well done with potato salads as well as horseradish, besides, roasted pork shoulder tasted just crunchy served with the dumplings. What's more, the pork knuckle tasted well done that you can easily separate the meat and bone! Last but not least, remember to head to the restaurant next to the Sbealduskirche, around the city center, between the meal times, or you may have the chances to queue in lines for a while during that time period! Highly recommended! The servers there were all hospitable to help you order, so please don't hesitate to ask them!
