Die Rote Bar - Nürnberg — Restaurant in Nuremberg

We (2 people) went there yesterday and the place was crowded. We took it as a good signal, but it wasn’t. Quick summary: too expensive for the quality of the drinks horrible service, extremely long waiting time. Understaffed? not a good place if you want to have a conversation (too loud) (- and not good for people who have anxiety in confined spaces)

Long summary: After ordering, we waited ages for our drinks (at least half an hour) and we got them served separately. As I wanted to be polite, I didn’t touch my drink until my friend received hers. My ice was already half melted by the time she got hers. Who serves two drinks separately??

The drinks weren’t anything special, so 17€ for 1 drink were not justified. When I pay 17€, I pay attention to details, so even the way the lime was cut wasn’t appetizing (very chunky and wavy piece ).

The service was also really bad. When my friend finally got her drink, the waitress sloppily put it on the table and it spilled over. Her glass was therefore sticky and they don’t serve napkins (basic etiquette) either.

Everytime I'm at the bar, I say "I should come here more often," but I never do. It's a real gem - a bar for people who appreicate what they're drinking, but unpretentious and at a fair price. The cocktails are simple classic cocktails, but they're well-done with proper ingredients - rare in Stuttgart, so worth mentioning. They also have quite a few good beers available by the bottle, including a rare one or two. It's a chill but hip neighborhood place, more like something you'd find in Berlin as opposed to Stuttgart, which is what makes it special.for this secretiveness:

1. It's small and the atmosphere is private
2. The drinks are made with a great accuracy by masters of their art
3. It's for connaisseurs who worship good drinks

The location is great for very small groups from 2 to 4. The atmosphere stimulates good conversations and at times you feel like a visionary from the 20s...

This bar used to be the best spot in town, but since covid they have lowered their standards. Right now it is extremely expensive for the quality of drinks and service that you get. They have a nice cocktail menu, but some of the drinks are poorly executed. Out of 3 drinks, one of them just tasted like water, no flavour whatsoever. Service is very poor, the place was almost empty and it took about 45 minutes to get drinks, they all came separately. On top of that it took another 45 minutes just to be able to pay.
